Hunters Lodge Hotel is a Grade II listed building located close to the Scotland-England Border and the heart of the world-famous wedding location Gretna Green. We are the closest hotel to the Registration Office and to the stunning Anvil Hall wedding venue making us an ideal base for your Scottish wedding. The hotel has remained in the same family for 32 years so we take pride in everything we do to ensure that your stay with us is both memorable and enjoyable. An ideal base to explore the area - from Hadrian's Wall, the English Lake District in Cumbria, Kielder, Dumfries & Galloway, the Scottish Border, or the shopping village (Caledonia Park).

Spend a pleasant evening with us in our lounge bar where you can taste the flavour of Scotland from our range of malt whiskies or enjoy one of our specially home-cooked meals. Why not try one of our premium gins? If you simply want a relaxing evening sit back, relax and unwind. Meals at the Hunters Lodge Hotel are served in the traditional bar area.
Please note that due to the pandemic we are experiencing a lot of restrictions within the hospitality sector. We therefore recommend that you check with the current Scottish Guidelines in relation to what is allowed. We wanted a clean and comfortable room to lay our heads en route to Glencoe. We received much more. This is a family run hotel with an emphasis on warm and welcoming. Gary's kitchen produces great home cooked meals (I can recommend the full breakfast) and the hostess was outstanding. Thank you both.

DISGUSTING! DO NOT STAY HERE! Food is way overpriced for what you get. The rooms are as old as the hills cobwebs all over door frames and cupboards. Dirty stained carpets. Carpets mustn't have been cleaned in years absolutely thick of dust around the edges. Shower was a rust bomb. Cheapest soaps and shampoos you could possibly think of. 2.50 for a can of MULTIPACK NOT TO BE SOLD SEPARATELY pop!
The lady who works there has 0 customer service only cares about you if your putting money in there pockets. Didn't make me sign anything when leaving and tried to charge me for damage that was ALREADY THERE! No courtesy call or nothing to ask what happened just decide to take money from MY bank WITHOUT PERMISSION AND NO DOUBT THEY WILL TRY IT WITH ANYONE ELSE WHO IS NOT FROM THAT AREA! STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN OR DONT EVER GIVE THEM YOUR BANK DETAILS! WORST HOTEL IVE EVER STAYED IN AND IVE BEEN IN MANY AND NEVER EVER HAD THIS SORT OF PROBLEM!

Supposed to be a hotel, got thrown into a outback near to what looks like a barn. Freezing cold room, heater didn't even work, stained carpets, trying to blame us for damage that was already there and took 45 pound out of our bank without permission. Cobwebs everywhere, no remote for tv, kettle was dirty and full of limescale. Bathroom was a disgrace, toilet seat was broke. Food was overpriced AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS

We came up from Bedford for a wedding. Lovely place, clean and tidy. Rooms were spacious and if we ever needed anything, it was there no problem. Two owners were lovely and honestly couldn't fault anything! Food was brilliant. Will be coming up again soon and this is the place to stay! Lovely little bar with a great choice of whiskeys/drinks the coffees are great and there's also a good selection of gins haha! Take care guys see you soon

Such a lovely place, homely, comfortable, clean, beautiful character. Food lovely, we love it that much we have booked another night stay. Will be sad to leave, will definetly visit again. Can't fault our stay in anyway. Felt very welcomed upon entering the door. Thankyou so much to the owners. Such a nice place, nice people, nice everything.
