So chanced our favourite place to holiday with our dog, found this hotel on secret escapes, wow what a perfect hotel, doggie friendly, great location. Danny & Mariana at front desk with unbelievably helpful gave us a perfect sized sea view room & as it was so nice we decided to stay another night! Which they sorted with such ease. Breckie was yummy, bar lively with great atmosphere so many friendly dogs. It's now our annual New year hotel Thank you Love the Gouders x x

The hotel is in major need to a restoration beyond the recent paint job in the rooms. There was paint all over the bath tub. The rooms are without AC and single glaze windows mean it's very noisy.

The Hotel was warm, and friendly, staff In all departments, very helpful, and obliging, The Hotel is old, and a little tried, but think it adds to it charm, especially at Christmas. Great location, for all thing Brighton. We only stayed one night, had dinner and breakfast their, which was great value for money. Highly recommend for customer service comfort and value for money

Booked in for a 60 per head Christmas meal with all inclusive drinks. The meal was lovely, but there were a few moments that really upset our party. The 3 lads behind were very slow and just kept making mistakes through the evening. I asked for a double rum & coke, and was given a single with the glass filled with coke, I said I couldn't taste the rum, I was then told that I would need to pay for an extra shot.

He then threw my drink in the sink and made me a new one without so much coke. What a waste! Then after 10pm there was only one bar man, who was clearly told to slow down serving people and we ended up with a big queue for drinks. If you're thinking of booking in for this party, please do reconsider, as I only managed to get myself 2 single rum & coke, 2 small bottles of beer & a pint larger. (No IPA available btw) Free Bar between 7:30 & 11:30, it was disappointing. 2 stars because the food was great. Shame about the bar!

It was lovely. Old, but clean, very warm. Big room, very comfy large bed. Staff very friendly and helpful Only complaint bathroom door didn't shut. But was not a huge worry So convenient for The Lanes, car parking, the pier. Opposite the sea. Dinner was lovely and breakfast good menu and fresh. Would definitely go again. I think dog friendly not sure. There is a lift. Well recommend.

Absolutely marvelous! Every single member of staff were very nice, efficient, courteous and helpful. The two rooms we occupied on this occasion were very nice, reasonably spacious and comfortable. The bonus of some rooms being dog friendly was superb, our puppy had a lovely break away from our very busy household and had lots of new experiences and lovely walks along the seafront.

We have already booked our next visit and we CAN NOT offer a greater review than to book a return visit prior to booking out from this one. Thanks to all the staff, both customer facing and those more in the background/support roles. You made our stay far more than satisfactory!

Lovely old hotel with plenty of original features including the lovely slow lift. It's a bit tired but without being tatty. The welcome was warm and friendly, the room was a good size with a comfy bed and super clean. Breakfast was lovely with a great choice. Parking is available on site or you can park in the lanes car park next door. Fantastic location.

I'm so glad that Manchester is now doing what London has done with its old buildings in the city centre. This was a great place to crash. I felt I was in an international chain-quality hotel instead of a budget hotel. And this was super budget! It looks as if it was updated within a year. My room was clean, bright, nothing old and tatty like many of the London hotels now.

I thought it was going to be loud with my room facing Piccadilly Gardens and single-pane windows. But it wasn't loud after midnight. Though, the hotel would do well to incorporate secondary glazing. On my way to check out, someone was smoking in their room. Maybe "budget" attracts people who are going to disregard the rules! Reception appreciated my reporting of it. I would stay again.

We checked in yesterday and must say I've never met such warm, kind and helpful staff. We are staying here until furniture arrives in our new home and although they don't do full dinner menu they offered that we order take away and they would let us use their space with dishes and Cutlery. We was made to feel welcome with our little dog! I'm so happy we stayed here. It's very cheap for the high standards

We needed to book a hotel asap as our last hotel was horrendous. The location was amazing. Very central. Walking distance from the Arndale and Chinatown. I booked the hotel online and arrived half an hour later around 11.30am and were able to check in early! The receptionist was so lovely, polite and informative. The whole process took around 5 minutes. Took the lift up to the room.

The huge widows brings in loads of light. Spacious room. The furniture was a bit dated bit probably purposeful due to the boutique style of the hotel. Clean bedroom and bathroom. The shower probably has the best pressure in the world! Did not have a safe or a fridge but was able to do my ironing and watch TV. Also free and great wifi connection. Great hotel for a great price. There are a few steps so it's not recommended for the elderly or disabled but I will recommend for any couple who wanted a pleasant stay in the city center.

For the price, this hotel was great for my needs. It was cheap and in a great location and right by the tram station. There are several food and drink options nearby too. Of course the room was small, but it was clean and the bed was pretty comfortable.

I booked a really cheap deal at the Gardens Hotel in Manchester for a Christmas Shopping Trip. I was able to get a Double Room for the bargain price of 13 with a Discount voucher when I registered with a well known hotels website. Because it was only 13 my expectations of this 3* Hotel were not high, if I had of paid the full asking price 45 per night I may have been a little dissapointed.

For me Location was the top priority and being located opposite Piccadilly Gardens was a bonus, less to walk when carrying all those Primark bags! Which incidently is only approx 150 yards away from the hotel entrance (another added bonus! well for me anyway!) The hotel itself was a little run down and rough around the edges. Whilst the Bedrooms were very spacious, the decor was dated and in need of some TLC.

The Bed was rock hard, not even the hint of a bounce! The Beside Light Shades were burnt inside which looked like a bit of a Safety Hazard! The Bathroom, again big, was dirty and stained. However the staff were very friendly and helpful and always at hand if you needed anything. Although Breakfast was included in the price we decided against it and opted for Subway next door! If your going to this hotel, dont go with high expectations, its a place to lay your head and not much else but for location it gets 10/10.

We choose this hotel as we had tickets at the MEN arena and the apollo and this hotel was within walking distance of both venues. The rooms are small and there was no main light in the room, just lamps. However, the bed was comfortable and tea and coffee were provided. The hotel is situated about 5 minutes walk away from Picadilly train station, about 15 minutes walk to the MEN arena and around 15-20 minutes walk to the Manchester Apollo. Even though the hotel was situated on the main street, in our room we couldn't hear any of the outside noise.
