The only inn situated inside South West Scotland's Galloway Forest Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty, the House o' Hill is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal with family or friends. We serve good honest home-made food all of which is freshly prepared using locally-sourced produce, from our meats and fish to our fine cheeses. Come and try our wild venison, straight from the Galloway Hills. For those with a love of the sea, most of our fish and shellfish is caught from local waters - experience a real taste of Galloway!

Well what can I say, absolutely delicious! The pictures explain it all. Wine and lager - amazing, the food is presented well and most of all, there's just no words to explain that they have a GREAT Chef. Staff are very friendly. House O'Hill Hotel is just around a slow 8min walk to the Campsite, through a really nice walk just next to the road.

Only stopped off for a beer at the end of a cycle ride but very impressed. Staff were friendly and welcoming despite being busy, lovely atmosphere, reasonable prices and nice outside seating area.

We eat out quite often but the meal we had here was up there with the best of them. A sharing meat platter to start would've been enough to finish us off if it wasn't for the fact we'd lived off camping food for the previous 4 days and the stuffed chicken breast and flat iron steak were to die for. The service was great, and the waitress (who's sister lives near Kirkham) was kind, friendly and informative. I would recommend the HOUSE O'HILL to anybody. Please note. Not open 7 days a week.

We camped nearby and visited for food with our dog. Staff were so friendly and attentive, and doted on Bella which she adored. Food was lovely and the chips my fiance got with his massive burger were some of the best I've ever had! Will definitely return when we can!

Had a lovely 3 course meal here for a very reasonable price. Service was brilliant all staff were so friendly and the food was delicious. Close to Glentrool waterfall as well which we had a nice stroll along to walk off all the food!

The place is pleasant and its location is beautiful being very close to Loch Trool. Most of the staff were friendly and the food was very good. However the food is rather expensive and I have had cheaper food of the same or better quality elsewhere. The drinks on the other hand, were terrible. All 3 of my party agreed they tasted watered down which, given the apparently great selection of draught on offer, this was a disappointment

We had a fabulous meal here on Saturday. The staff were friendly and efficient and gave some excellent recommendations about the menu (the Thai curry was delicious). They were very accommodating about the children and the dog, we enjoyed the whole experience. Everyone enjoyed their meal, would definitely recommend. Nice selection of whisky too I'm told!

Amazing meal at this restaurant. Staff were lovely and very helpful - food was superb, couldn't fault it. Highly recommend the rump steak, the burger and the sticky toffee pudding! Wouldn't hesitate to visit again.

Best meal I've had in a very long time when we visited September 2021. The food (I had black pudding and haggis empanadas and a flat iron steak) was really good. I've been dreaming about the empanadas and the black olives they came with! Staff were absolutely great. Genuinely some of the best and friendliest service I've experienced in a very long time.

We would definitely go back again! All staff members were absolutely lovely and obviously happy in their work and the food was amazing. The owner/head chef came out and spoke to us about the multiple food intolerances we all have and was able to cater really well for all of us. A real foodies heaven!
