Pre-read the mixed reviews about this place so wasn't sure what to expect. On arrival the two girls on reception were lovely. Warm greeting and made us feel very welcome. Facilities were good, a couple of things here and there not working on the day but that didn't distract from the overall experience. Hydrotherapy pool was lovely, hot tub on terrace perfect temperature (although only one of the jets was working on our visit) and treatments were fantastic. Lunch was included in our package but options weren't great. Would have been nice also if teas/coffees were included in the package and not just one soft drink.

We stayed for a spa weekend including dinner, the spa was clean modern and super relaxing. The sun on the roof terrace was fab. There was a minor issue checking in at the hotel but the manageress with long straight hair (sorry I didn't get your name!) dealt with it promptly and very professionally. Every member of staff we interacted with was very polite and professional.

It was more than we would usually spend for a night away but definitely worth it. The only thing that could be improved was the continental breakfast offerings but everything else was perfect. Thank you for a great stay!

Lovely hotel but didn't live upto all expectations. Food very expensive along with drinks. Great service. Room was fine but expected more and better for money. I would return but would not want to pay as much. Spa was okay but overrated.

This is a nice hotel, polite staff and a lovely restaurant. I think I was expecting more as it sells itself as a spa hotel on the website and in its marketing There is a spa attached, but this is extra - nearly 100 extra for two. I'm not an idiot but I felt a bit duped when I realised as the room alone with breakfast was almost 200. Room was fine, but like I say, they promote the spa, so naturally the assumption is, it's included as a paying overnight guest.

I think the should make it more explicit on their website. It felt a bit sneaky to me as it does say spa separate but also says 'guests can use health club facilities'. Also, the spa was fully booked and I'd already paid non refundable room fee. There is a pleasant swimming pool, sauna, steam and jacuzzi free to guests, but it's not the all-singing, all-dancing 5 star spa. We did enjoy our time here though and it was fine overall. Note to self: if something seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Lovely family special birthday Dinner. The staff were absolutely fabulous and attentive. The complimentary veloute and sweets offered by the chef were delightful and delicious. The meat dishes were plentiful, however the fish dishes were a little on the 'lean' side which was surprising. This maybe can be looked at?

Didn't stay at the hotel. Arranged to have my wedding here but have had to cancel due to poor communication. No response to emails, never received a call back when told we would. Got told we would receive most of our deposit back if we cancelled when we booked but apparently that policy doesn't exist. Management at the hotel is very rude and called us the liars.

Very poor service from a hotel you expect to be exceptional. I wouldn't recommend to anyone especially if requiring wedding services, I would look elsewhere. Overpriced and very unhelpful and rude staff.

We had a lovely lunch, spa evening and stay at Bedford Lodge Hotel. The food (including some room service and breakfast) was great, the service was friendly and attentive and the spa was excellent - by chance we seemed to have exclusive use of the place. We look forward to visiting again.

Beautiful hotel. Immaculately clean throughout. Relaxing bar with log fire and leather couches. Excellent breakfasts. The comfiest bed ever. Emily took great care of us through our two day workshop on-site - great meeting facilities! Would love to return.

We had afternoon tea in the restaurant. Great selection of savoury food, including hot food, then cakes. We had the festive afternoon tea. The actual tea itself was very good and didn't "go over" too soon so remained drinkable, and top-ups were offered. They even offered to swap out some of the sandwiches for our teenager, nothing too much trouble. They'd set the table up really nicely in the restaurant and felt like a real occasion. Good atmosphere and nice buzz. Very reasonable prices, we couldn't finish everything.
