Angus Hotel Rachel & Martin welcome you to a relaxing stay in their charming Victorian hotel where guests will be assured of a warm and friendly reception. This cosy small hotel was built in1880??s, and is in the Stanwix part of the city where the Romans had a command headquarters for 1,000 cavalry and so we literally have our foundations on Hadrian??s Wall.

Very comfortable and friendly hotel just north of the river in Carlisle. WE stayed here at the end of our first day of walking the wall. The owners were very helpful is so many ways as we started our hike. Like, did you know that on Sundays there is very little open in the way of restaurants in Carlisle? But the people here know which ones are and filled us in.

A total life saver at the end of 15 miles. Room was roomy and overlook the street but very bright and light. Bed was great and plenty of space to store things, if you are into that. Breakfast was pretty standard and packed lunches were very nice. I would come back and stay here to explore the rest of the area.
