Dreadful. like Fawlty Towers. but not funny! A beautiful historic hotel and grounds, but totally ruined by the worst service and attitude ever. They closed and locked the bar over an hour before they promised. and just walked out leaving us sitting (thirsty) in a dreary waiting room. There are no. ImI bars and the rooms are not serviced daily. The agency staff try very hard under difficult circumstances, but the owner and managers do not care! Such a shame. do not visit under any circumstances!

Had our wedding here on Saturday and I literally can not find a fault. Service was impeccable, Owner was an absolute pleasure to meet. The venue - WOW Everything I had every dreamed of. One of the girls even had to help me undo my dress as my husband had already passed out. Fabulous from start to finish, can't thank you all enough Lots of love Simone & Alex xx

If you like history, this charming place is for you. It felt like staying in one of the National Trust mansions and we loved everything: the beautiful classical interior, the quietness of the place, the warm room, the modern bathroom, beautiful collection of paintings, good breakfast in the morning, deer rambling in the field, rabbits and owl hooting gently at night.

After reading some of the reviews on here we almost had second thoughts about booking this hotel. I'm so glad we stuck with it! Lovely location, Beautiful building and grounds. Friendly warm welcome by the owner, who is a down to earth straight talking bloke. What else could you ask for? Food was really nice and prompt service. ALL staff are polite and well mannered.
I spent ages looking for the rude one's couldn't find them anywhere. If you want a nice, peaceful, chilled out break with down to earth people, nice room's and great value for money then this is definitely the place. ignore the bad reviews! Dalston Hall is a real hidden gem, we will look forward to returning in the near future.

Horrible place. I stayed for business and they purposely didn't tell me any bar prices for drinks. They then charged my card extra after I left and when I complained they said I'd agreed. This was obviously nonsense. I got my credit card to dispute the claim and got my money back. Never ever going back to this scamming haunted hulk hotel.

Bad hotel, the other negative reviews described exactly our experience. Shame we didn't read these reviews beforehand. Bad value for money. Very few staff and all sullen and rude. Advertises "fine dining" but has no restaurant. Bar food only, limited choice & bland. Toilets in public area locked, the list goes on. Website description did not match what was delivered. Tried to complain but owner was not interested so we checked out. Avoid; maybe OK as a venue for conferences/weddings, but certainly not a hotel.
