This was my second visit to this hotel for a spa day as a gift from my friend - really disappointed. The spa treatments were great, however, the rest of the day not. The changing rooms & showers were not clean and they smelt awful. No bags to use for wet swimming costumes. No products in the showers, the tiles around the swimming pool were cracked & the steam room out of use. Needless to say I will not use this hotel for spa packages again.

Just had a short break at this hotel which is conveniently situated for the Cotswolds. Very clean rooms, nice pool area and spa. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The restaurant have very knowledgeable staff and we're very professional and lovely and they have an excellent chef, food was a very high standard and beautifully presented. Which all contributed to making our stay so pleasurable. The only item that would have been nice would have been robes. Saying that, thank you everybody.

Marriott standards have declined since Covid and I believe some are run as franchises with inconsistent application of corporate standards. Our suite was good enough in its own right but we experienced two nights of guests persistently allowing doors to slam and their children to run wild. The weak point was the Cast Iron restaurant. The brand has been abandoned at some hotels in favour of better offerings.
The menu is dire and does not appear to have changed, much less expanded, since mid-Covid. Service for our one dinner on a five night stay was poor but this was not so much down to the hard-working wait staff as a total lack of supervision. The advertised sundae fell well short of the mark on a number of grounds. On our arrival, an outside bin was overflowing as it has been on previous visits.
The grounds are invariably littered and receive little or no attention from the staff. In the car park, disabled spaces are abused as at other Marriotts. The Parking Eye input devices dropped out during our stay and I understand a new system is to be introduced. The location is convenient but the establishment is only mediocre.

Booked 2 x rooms on booking.com but when we arrived only 1 room had actually been booked. The Receptionist did manage to sort the issue but it took a while. We asked for robes and slippers (to access the spa), we were given slippers, the robes never arrived. Room was basic but very clean. Even though the hotel is near busy roads we didn't hear any noise. Disappointed to find there was no jacuzzi (as advertised) in the pool. Breakfast was nice, service was good and there was a wide selection of choices.

We arrived at the Swindon Marriott Hotel Saturday 27th February 2022 for a much needed night away with my family. We specifically booked this hotel because our children love to swim. On arrival I noticed a sign saying the pool was closed, after checking this with the member of staff at reception, G*****a, she simply said "yes it's closed, we can cancel your reservation and you are welcome to find another hotel" My children were incredibly disappointed and after spending some time calling other hotels I had no luck.
I explained this to G*****a and asked what the hotel could offer us by way of discount. She said she could discount from 149 to 99. I said OK, I also have a "Hotelgift" voucher and she said yes that's fine. As I went to pay she then said actually the discount won't be valid if the pool opens. I explained that with 2 small children I will have to make plans to entertain them and waiting around in case the pool opens will be really difficult.
She simply said that's all I can do. I told her that this is very confusing and unfair, my children at this point were getting frustrated and I decided to continue checking in and went up to the room. We waited for a few hours but then had to take the children somewhere so left the hotel. No local swimming pools were available, our children were very disappointed.
The next morning we spent much longer in the room than we wanted to waiting for a call to see if the pool had re opened. The children were then very hungry so we decided to go for breakfast. Unfortunately we were very dissatisfied with the hot buffet, the tomatoes were hard and inedible, the scrambled egg and bacon tasteless and the fried eggs very oily.
After this we got ready to check out. At check out G*****a said that the pool had reopened some time ago (had she not thought to glance across to the restaurant where we were, and come to tell us!?) we by this stage had booked other activities for the children for the day. G****a then went onto say she would have to charge me the full amount then would transfer discount.
This is very unprofessional. She then said "I cannot accept that voucher" The day before she said she could accept it, and saw it on the counter AS she was putting my card details in. At both points she should have checked but didn't. I felt incredibly embarrassed and frustrated that she went ahead and took FULL payment only to then refuse voucher.
I should have been made aware the day before. I asked could she please call a manager/other hotel to discuss voucher but she simply refused. She said she would keep the voucher to check with management the next day. I trusted her with this. Myself and my wife left feeling upset, stressed and utterly disappointed with the customer service we had received.
We expected so much more from a Marriott. On Monday I recieved an email from G*****a P***s saying the voucher is not valid and I had to drive back to the Swindon Marriott to collect it. Unbelievable! I asked her to please post it and have heard nothing. I asked her "what about my 50 Discount" and have heard nothing. The attitude from the staff (one member in particular) was as poor as you can get.
I'd advise strongly not to stay here as they do not deserve your money or membership. With customer service levels this poor I cannot see how this business will sustain any credible reputation among its piers. Avoid!

I am so impressed with this hotel. Rooms were very clean and the food was superb! Ask for Pravin the Chef, his service was immaculate. We had lovely breakfast, but Pravin asked us if there anything we wanted especially. I asked for pancakes! It was delicious. Thank you so much, will definitely visit again!
