Cherwood Hotel

This guest house is run by Jo and Martin, a lovely couple who can't do enough for their guests. The B&B is lavish and ultra clean. The breakfast is delicious with lot's of choice. I would recommend this guest house in a heartbeat.

First stay with Jo and Martin. Where do we start, from the very friendly warm welcome on day one, the fantastic customer service, outstanding hygiene and incredible rooms it Will not be the last stay. Our first stay but definately not our last. Our room was ready early so we had a message to say we could check in which was great. A lovely warm welcome greeted us from Martin, Jo was out so we met her at breakfast the following morning. The whole house was immaculate and spotless and the decor done beautifully. Our room had everything you needed and the little touches were very well thoughtout, the shower was also excellent.

Breakfast (cooked by Martin) was the best we've ever had in any b and b previously, a high accolade but very true. We did meet Jo at breakfast who was very warm and friendly nothing was to much trouble. The location in Paignton was the best, out the door and right to the beach and pier, left to the shops, buses, steam train plus all on the flat so very accessible. Highly Recommend, 10 out 10, if you over look this one, you've missed a treat you will regret.

Jo & Martin are lovely hosts. Great home from home stay with lots of lovely little touches. The property was immaculate and comfy beds. Breakfast was great! We will definitely stay again

Love this guesthouse. Shame to be leaving today, the hosts make you feel so welcome and are such lovely people. If/when we come back to Paignton, we'll stay here again! Rooms are great, breakfast is great, no downsides to this place.

Jo & Martin were amazing hosts for my daughters birthday weekend in Paignton! The guest house was immaculate & rooms were so welcoming & comfy! Even so we have already booked for our next stay in Oct! We had a family room with 2adults & 2 older children with still enough space for us all to be comfortable! Truly a pleasure to stay here. The house has plenty of character, with well thought out features throughout. We were made to feel more than comfortable, the owners are great, extremely welcoming and it is abundantly clear that they take absolute pride in their establishment and the service that they provide. That shone through during the communication before and during our visit. The location is great too, we are planning to visit again.

We booked this guest house as a very last minute break for two nights and we were pleasantly surprised. We were greeted at the door by Martin who briefed us on the rules, had lolly pops for the children and then shown to our room, a family room. It was beautifully decorated with an, albeit small, en suite and a second room with bunk beds. There were tvs in both rooms and everything was provided for hot beverages.

The en suite had shampoo and body wash as well as hand wash and gel. Breakfast was provided at 5.50 for continental and 7.50 for full English. I don't eat breakfast but my daughter and grandsons said the food was good. The beds were very comfortable and slept like a baby. Quiet time in the guest house is between 9pm and 7am which made our sleep time enjoyable. Cherwood is situated 5 minutes from the beach and pier and 10 minutes from the main shopping area. It's a ten minute drive to Torquay and surrounding towns. All in all, a great place to stay and if we visit Paignton again, will definitely stay without hesitation.

Great stay! Room was spotless and the handy sanitiser on the key ring was a nice touch. Breakfast was brilliant and a hit with our 1year old! Martin and Jo are fantastic hosts made us feel really welcome without being overbearing. A big thanks to Jo, who dried our coats after a down pour! We look forward to visiting again!

We received a very warm welcome by Jo & Martin. We were 3 families with 3 young teenagers, a 6yr old, a 2 yr old & 6 adults. Rooms were immaculate with a lovely Welcome card. Rooms are individually styled with great taste & are comfortable with a homely modern feel. Covid rules were followed throughout so we felt very safe. Breakfast orders & timings were agreed the night before, meaning breakfast service was efficient & 'easy' for such a large group of people with children. Children's cutlery and plates were provided for the little ones, which is rare & a nice touch.

The breakfast was plentiful with good quality produce. There is a children's corner offering activity books, dvd's & reading books (as well as some treats). We thought we might struggle with a group of mixed ages keeping everyone happy, however we found it extremely easy & stress free. The location is perfect for being able to walk to the beach, restaurants, shops & the park. All in all we could not fault anything & are looking to book again soon.

Great location near to the central beach and pier. Two great, friendly, professional hosts who are brilliant with kids. Nice, recently refurbished and refreshed rooms. Great breakfasts with a wide variety of options available. Really good value. Family had an awesome time there.
