A particularly poor and expensive stay. The hotel has recently reopened in the last few weeks after closing during COVID so older reviews are no longer reliable. Started with one of our party being charged 3 times as they had somehow saved his details onto their system and charged all of our rooms to his account, this resulted in his card being blocked by the bank and being flagged as fraud.
It appeared the host had never used or been trained to use the payment system before which was very concerning. On arrival we were informed our prepaid breakfast is served from 8:30-9:30 which isn't really appropriate as we were travelling for work and thus are not available this late in the morning, as I imagine many guests are. We were instead given a pack lunch of a sandwich and some crisps.
Food is also not served on Monday or Tuesday in the evenings. There was no WiFi in any of the four rooms we stayed in and as mobile signal was also very poor do not expect to be able to use the Internet during your stay. The rooms themselves were fine although they got very hot at night. The location is also lovely and the outside garden is very picturesque.
Overall this hotel has a lot of potential but for 100 a night I would expect a lot more and the lack of proper breakfast, the issues with card payment and many other little things really lets them down.

Although the staff were friendly and polite, and sounded like they wanted things to be good, and the room looked fancy after its refurbishment, there were several issues which they didn't seem to recognise, and which I hope they manage to solve before accepting many bookings (especially as lots of them are easy to solve). - There was no WiFi network whatsoever in the rooms, despite the info. folder detailing a network just for that pair of rooms (and no phone signal, or it wouldn't have been such a frustration). - There was no access to any breakfast until as late as 8:30 (which you don't get told until you've already booked) and the alternative was to give us a "takeaway breakfast" the night before which contained not breakfast food, but a cheese sandwich, crisps, apple and yoghurt to sit in a warm bedroom overnight (which surely is against food safety regulations given cheese and yoghurt should be refrigerated). - The only coffee in the room is decaf, so make sure to bring some if you want another option. - There are several table/desks in the room but no chairs (except a stool which was only about an inch shorter than the desk and therefore clearly was impossible to use since there was no room for legs). - The shower only worked intermittently, despite presumably being brand new.
We couldn't work out why it sometimes worked, nor why it would suddenly stop in the middle, then occasionally start again. Unfortunately we didn't get to ask about this because the staff hadn't arrived when we left. - The food in the restaurant was very expensive without much choice - e.g. 15 for a vegetable curry, where the naan looked like a cheap one from a supermarket but was significantly less tasty even than those, and many many times worse than the naan I easily make myself, which was a shame to pay so much for.

Went here for dinner yesterday evening after a long hike. Good service and warm welcome. Unfortunately, we won't be eating here again and wouldn't recommend anyone does. I ordered a steak and ale pie and the pastry was paper thin and crumbly. My partner ordered a curry and he received a tiny pot of curry sauce with loads of rice and the nann bread was dry and crusty.
We weren't expecting a 5* top restaurant meal but this was not worth the money. We also asked for table water twice and it never arrived, the staff weren't even rushed off their feet. The menu list and price gave us high hopes but the quality of food just didn't cut it.
