The Bridge Inn, once a modest mail coaches halt, is now a fine, well-situated, comfortable country inn providing good food and accommodation surrounded by the western lakes and fells of the English Lake District. John, Lesley & their Staff welcome you to their little piece of England, which offers an experience which softer, prettier places cannot pretend to match.
The Western Lakes and Fells are spectacular and here in this quiet valley there is still the peace and tranquillity that should be Lakeland. There are still more sheep than people!!!

Went for Sunday lunch. Food was decent and all of us enjoyed it. The reason for the 3 stars was the staff. There was an general air of they didn't want to be there and you could really sense it. When we asked for drinks, the bar person was sullen and on one occasion I would go as far as rude when asked for something out of the norm. Waiting staff were slightly better. If you can live with that then go, as the food was good.

Great pub & restaurant. Lovely food and a good selection of beers. They're very dog friendly, a perfect stop off after a very long hike. As you can see from the pictures, our dog was very tired! We both had the Pichana Steak sandwich and shared a sticky toffee pudding. Both meals were delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed them. I could've eaten 2 sticky toffee puddings to myself, very tasty!
On the downside, the staff weren't the friendliest. Hard to explain but the Yorkshire Man in me would say there were stuck up or snobby. They seemed happy to greet our dog with a smile but not so much us. It's also quite expensive. 6.15 for a pint of Neckoil is unreasonable and the steak sandwiches were not worth 13.95. Overall it's worth a visit if you're in the area. There's plenty of parking too and they're in a good mobile phone signal area, something which is lacking around these parts.

The recent refurbishment looks great and hasn't eaten into the character it has. The food was pretty good, excellent home made burger and really great chunky chips. The black pudding left something to be desired though, being a little chewy which was quite odd. The best black pudding is from a butcher in Carluke, Scotland (name withheld so as not to fall foul of posting rules).

Up market public house with accommodation on site situated right on the side of the river, great location and a mobile home site next door. Food looked good, didn't have any just saw it delivered to a table by me. Beer ok, not a great choice of real local ales, shame as a micro brewery up the road. Would call back in if passing.

Perfect stay on a last minute NYE booking Room was lovely and cosy and the restaurant pub had a beautiful decor then there was the food that was just mouth watering and out of this world. Shame its a 3 hour drive away for us as we would visit regularly. The staff were very helpful and polite. It's was very busy our booking was 5.30om for good as we have a little one.
Outside is breathtaking as you have the beautiful river running past and lovely little walks around. We plan on doing scarfel pike in the near future so will definitely be visiting or staying here again.

Lovely hotel. Lady who cooks breakfast, reception and changes bedroom. Worth her weight in gold. Definitely stay again. If I had one suggestion. We nearly got locked out, as we took dog for a walk before bed. Apparently we should of had a number on our room key ring to get in. But ours was missing. Perhaps all the information and key fob numbers could be put on email confirmation.

Special shout out to Jenny who served us on a busy Saturday evening, friendly, professional and unflappable. To the chef, we've eaten here twice, both times food has been spot on, excellent steak and ale pie with proper chips. The burgers too are excellent. Very dog friendly eatery. Thank you very much see you later xx
