This pub was renovated during lockdown. The rooms are really clean with Brand new toilet/bathrooms. Pub was cosy and breakfast was good too. Definately recommended

Absolutely fantastic place to stay. Very Victorian kind of hotel, loved the look inside. We stayed there for 2 nights. Very peaceful location, top notch service, rooms spotlessly clean and very good breakfast. 10mins off the M6. Would definitely return and highly recommended.

We were staying nearby and thought we would drop in for a local draught beer. We were welcomed by good bar staff, with two local beers hand pulled. There was a log fire on and was a traditional pub. In the best sense. Food was being served and I think your need a good appetite as the portions seemed large to me. There is no garden to sit on but a very nice wooden structure outside was in the full sun. Recommended. Oh, whilst we were there folk who had booked rooms came and said they had been a while back and loved it so thought they would come back. I think that's a good sign.

The building is very nice fire lit to create a nice atmosphere. The food was very good and different curry pie with mash and veg was my choice. The only downside was the waitress seemed to be run off her feet. I would vist again

Amazing 2 night break! Upon entering the inn there was an open fire blasting out heat! Friendly staff! Amazing Sunday dinner and pudding! The room was great, very clean, all the essentials. The breakfast was superb, the lady serving us really went above and beyond! Even preparing a fruit platter the next day for my wife! She was also very helpful and knowledgeable with the surroundings and amenities! Would 100% recommend and stay here again! Thanks to all the staff! Other bonuses were free WiFi and parking.

Lovely place, but it was totally lifeless on a Saturday evening. At 4.50 a pint, 8 for starters and 17 for a main course, you can see why. I wonder if they've thought that they might make more money if they reduced their prices. Some of the food reviews are good but, given some of the others, I won't be taking the risk.

Drinks & food expensive, food was very nice cooked fresh to order. Breakfast was lovely spoilt for choice again cooked to order. Place itself is lovely, spotlessly clean, proper oldie world with lovely fires. Staff friendly, chatty, room lovely & clean. Only stayed 2 nights but we had clean towels each day. I would have given it 5 star but cost of food & drink let it down

This place is a hidden gem. Very cozy place to stay. I had the Spanish Sea Bass which was excellent. Breakfast was also made to perfection. I would definitely stay here again if I had the chance. Everyone was very nice and hospitable, especially the owner of the Inn who made us all feel comfortable. Wish I could give more stars to this place, thank you Colin.
