Stone House Hotel

Thank you for our very comfortable stay. The suit was not quite as clean as we would have expected with a lot of 'Cup Rings' on the surfaces and cushions a little grubby in the suit however, a very comfortable bed and beautiful surroundings. Breakfast was also very good. All staff were attentive and made for a very nice stay. Thank you all.

Stayed here on the way to London. It's a gorgeous hotel with great decor. Room was huge and well furnished. Everything was comfortable and clean. The restaurant was the only issue. Staff weren't very attentive. Three different menus it was like three different restaurants in one but in a confusing way. I would recommend just having traditional fayre and being good at it as opposed to trying to be too many food styles. Restaurant staff could do with better training on customer service.

I visited Stone House Hotel for a 4 day training course. I did not stay over night (commuted daily) from what I could tell it looked clean, tidy, looked after and friendly staff. I rate it 3 stars purely on the basis of the food service provided during the day (included in the course). If you ate meat the sandwiches looked like a great selection, if you didnt well, you got a piece of bread with butter/spread and a slice of tomato & cucumber!

I would not have paid for that! I couldnt stop laughing, I have never seen such a poor offering of vegan food from a business. The chips were great and so was the coffee, thankfully I always take some food with me when I go places so problem solved.

Afternoon Tea today was outstanding. Reception were very welcoming and restaurant staff were so lovely. Thank you for accepting us after I mixed up the time of arrival. The gluten free afternoon tea was so lovely and delicious and worth every penny. The choice of sandwiches and the selection of mini cakes and larger cakes were exceptional. The non gluten free afternoon teas were amazing too.

Presentation was beautiful. Thank you for a really lovely afternoon. The hotel is beautifully decorated too. I highly recommend. Our best friends recommended to us and so glad they did. We will certainly return again.

What a beautiful place just off the main road like a hidden gem. The sitting room was so nice takes you back in time. Excellent service, we went for afternoon tea and it was lovely, good selection of sandwiches and cakes tea/coffee or alcohol.

Breakfast and dinner is pretty decent although I preferred the bar menu the seating wasn't ideal and you could not order or even eat food from the bar menu in the restaurant even though they are yards apart. The room was fairly good although some of the furniture was dated, quite possibly older than me. TV had Netflix and a HDMI port so I could plug in my games console. I didn't make the most of the facilities i.e. swimming pool/gym

Reception staff were very friendly. Room was upstairs and I know this is an old building but when you can hear the guest in the next room it's not ideal and also in the hallway. The gym, pool, sauna and jacuzzi were lovely and the woman on the desk was nice. Breakfast was basic. Shower wasn't the best, hot water cut out several times during our stay. Has free parking and WiFi. Would not stay again but the gym I'd possibly sign up for if I ever became local to the area.

Leisure facilities were a really nice change from the usual hotel visit, everywhere was clean and the staff were very friendly. The room was exactly what it said in the description and was clean and tidy. Would recommend for others staying in Stone!

Stayed up here on a business trip for 3 days. The hotel room was basic but did the job. Two problems with the room was the shower would not stay at a constant temperature, it would go hot and cold. The TV is small and the signal was not great, had to fix it my self but still plays up now and again but a lot better. The breakfast is brilliant, fresh and hot and the service is great as well.

The evening meal again is brilliant. The staff are friendly and helpful. I did not use the other parts of the hotel but a colleague said it was good. If I was up here again, I would stay here again.

We attended for a 70th birthday party as a family of around 15 for a meal and disco along with other party goers around Christmas time. I can confidently say that this was one of the best nights out we have ever had. The food was superb - excellently cooked and presented. The service at all times was second to none - attention from all staff and the manager making regular contact not only with us but with all tables.

The venue was completely safe and you could see the efforts made to socially distance and keep all guests comfortable. The disco played music to keep everybody on the floor and created a great warm atmosphere and all the people in there had a great time. I have nothing but praise and I am sure we will return soon.
