Just stayed here and had a very relaxing weekend with a family group of 8. The hotel is conveniently located near lovely towns and waterfalls and sits right in the middle of the beautiful Yorkshire dales. The staff are very helpful, fun and polite. The hotel has a good selection of beers and whisky and the staff make excellent cocktails too. There is a great choice of breakfast options from various cooked breakfasts as full English, salmon/haddock & scrambled eggs, poached eggs, toast, yoghurts, fruits, porridge etc. and evening meals are also very good and well worth the price. Rooms are nicely decorated and comfortable.
The beds are just lovely. Only minus is that there is no mini-fridge in your room but you can have room service and you do have a coffee/tea facility. If nearby I would go there again.

A friend and I had popped in to Simonstone Hall for a few afternoon drinks on their beautiful terrace. We recieved superb service from friendly staff who couldn't do enough for us. The cocktails are excellent! Simonstone Hall has a special place in my heart as I had my wedding reception here a few years ago. The views of Hawes and the surrounding area are beautiful and the hotel has its very own charm for you to fall in love with.

My mum came to stay with me for two weeks after having a stroke. I treated her to afternoon tea as a belated birthday surprise. It was absolutely fantastic. Mum loved Simonstone Hall so much she asked to go back four more times before she went home. Weather was gorgeous to sit out and look at the views, peacocks were beautiful, coffees and sandwiches were perfect. Mum can't wait to stay with me again so she can go back!

Absolutely wonderful! The grounds are idyllic, and the cuisine is fabulous with all locally sourced and great quality products! Support for local community and ethically raised dairy & meats should be applauded. Not campaigned against by angry malnourished vegans, which seem to be the only bad comments this fine establishment has here. I will be highly recommending this wonderful visit!

One of my favourite hotels in the UK. Full of charm, warmth, and the really refurbished bedrooms are a real treat. Excellent service and always a warm welcome from the staff. Delicious food, always keeping the menu seasonal and local and the bar staff make an excellent cocktail.even when it's a request for something off menu. Not my first stay and certainly not my last, can't wait to return!

Wonderful stay and wonderful, historic hotel. Staff, especially Jake, could not have been more helpful, friendly and welcoming. We loved the food options - especially the attention given to my alternative dietary requirements and the staff went out of their way to provide us with lovely quality, local ingredients that were suitable for my gluten-free, soy-free, vegan diet.

My wife and I (and our dog, Reggie) stayed here for 3 nights earlier this month. the hotel generally and our room were both gorgeous - welcoming, comfortable and stylish. Service was friendly and low key, but always there and helpful when needed. Danny was particularly helpful. Our dog was made as welcome as we were, and we were really pleased that our the dog-friendly room we had booked was clean, stylish, spacious and inviting.
Food was fabulous and the views from the rear terrace are stunning. All-in-all, we felt that we made a great choice in picking Simonstone Hall as our base for our Yorkshire Dales break.

A HUGE thanks to the entire team at Simonstone Hall Hotel, for making us feel very welcome at extremely short notice. We heaved a massive sigh of relief when we were advised that a "dog friendly" room was available, having been let down by a local AirBnB host, after a 5 hour drive from home. Not only were the staff friendly and accommodating, but our entire experience here was simply fantastic and we're already discussing our options for going back. To you all (you know who you are) many, many thanks for everything and we wish you all the best for the months and years to come. Mark, Debbie (Eric and Tilly)

We had a wonderful stay at Simonstone Hall for our son's wedding, which had been postponed 3 times due to covid wedding restrictions. Everything was perfect, the venue, food, helpful & friendly staff and the view is amazing. Jake and his team went out of their way to make the happy couple's day very special and looked after all their guests. A day to remember, thank you.

I won't be booking a "cosy room" again because of the following:- 1. Poor view (see photo). 2. We could clearly hear the conversations ongoing in the adjacent room. Probably because there was an interconnecting door covered by the wardrobe. (See photo) Keyhole wasn't covered which provides anyone that would care to do such a thing an uninterrupted view of next doors bed. 3.
Have stayed in better hotel rooms for less and also eaten in restaurants for less too. 42 for a burger fries and rhubarb crumble. 4. Cosy room number 10 had a heavy mirror resting on a radiator not fixed to the wall. 5. No TV because the North Yorkshire transmitter was u/s and couldn't be fixed. If it had been a smart TV that doesn't need an aerial we could have streamed programmes. 6. Fire door on landing wedged open all night and no fire instructions on display in the room. Please judge for yourself how important these matters are for you

Very poor dining experience, dated and tired looking country hotel. Bad mannered spurious management unwilling to accept honest customer feedback. Review placed on TripAdvisor spurned by manager with knee jerk slanderous response. The location and building is a precious draw within the area but unfortunately the management and decor of some rooms, hall ways let's this all down.
Be aware building work was being carried out at the time of posting back in February and due to this the bar area was very noisy too. Breakfast was adequate and walks from the door a bonus.
