It's also been crowned the capital of New-Age chic, and you're sure to find plenty of surprises and delights as you wander the streets, markets, and independent boutiques. The buzz of the historic market town blends seamlessly with the rural bliss that surrounds it, combining to offer the best of both worlds.

Brilliant food, we love the muscles and steak. Very fresh with large portions, we have been several times, we drive over a hour and half to go, we love the food and service so much, the pub is oldy worldy and just beautiful, with open wood burners.

Stopped for lunch as a family of four and overall had a lovely lunch, including the roast. Being picky there were a couple things that let down my meal personally (chips were VERY overdone and missing some salad) but the rest of the party had amazing meals. Staff were so friendly and checked on us, with a quick service.

Popped in with my friend Lorraine for a lite bite while trying out our caravan. Decided on the mini fish, chipd and peas. Have to say it was brilliant. Hot, crispy.perfect batter and the chips were equally good. Nice setting in the town square too.

I booked a table online for the first sitting at 1700 as I had a meeting later. On arrival on ordering drinks and booking in I was informed the sitting was now at 1730 due to a wedding and only one chef! I had traveled 20 miles and only informed of the lateness on arrival. The bar staff didn't care at all! I still had the meeting so ended having fish and chips sat outside after trying to find a late alternative! I just don't get that no one cares about customer service these days. If I could give Royal Seven a lower rating than one star I would gladly!

This place is fine, great location for Totnes. If they did half stars I'd have given 3.5. the staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms decent enough. The main disappointment here is the food, which is not good. It's basic pub fayre but prepared without a lot of love and attention. Lots of things advertised on menu when we visited that they had run out of (e.g. "porridge with banana" on the menu was literally a bowl of porridge with some sliced banana on top. but "yes they had no bananas". actually for three days in a row despite us asking every morning at breakfast, cheap filter coffee etc).

We are there for one evening meal and decided not to go back because the food was so poor. Very dog friendly though including a little doggie bag gift when we left which was a nice touch! Staff were great, but need to sort the food out.

Visited with a large group of runners. The staff we lovely, the food nice and the beer hit the spot. Nice atmosphere. Would certainly visit again when in town. Wishing all the staff and customers health and happiness. Continue to flourish :

We enjoyed a delicious meal at the Royal Seven Stars Hotel. It was our first visit and we were delighted with the warm, friendly, inviting atmosphere and the delicious food. It is a little pricey although in-keeping with other Totnes eateries and the staff were excellent. We will definitely return

Excellent food, good service. We shared the seafood platter which was delicious and huge. We decided to sit outside because of the nice weather. The outside seating area is well decorated with flowers and planters so you don't feel like you are just sat by the road.
