First and last time I'll book with Shearings we were over an hour waiting to be pick up at Woodall sevices the hotel was old and dated the lift was out of order had to climb two flights of very steep stairs everytime I went to my room and the food was appalling. Some of the staff I can't fault them they worked extremely hard and couldn't do enough to help the only consolation was I met two lovely couples which made my holiday bearable

Was on trip last month to Wild atlantic way in Northern Ireland. The trip with faults was still value. Even with areas I felt could be improved the holiday was excellent and I would recommend. My main annoyance was the stereo typing of the Irish, I know it was meant to be said as a joke but it did grate. The knowledge of the island was very limited and not to point out the border crossings as we passed from one country to another was totally.sorry cannot think of a word. Just to reiterate holiday excellent value for money. Drivers very safe and efficient but in in my opinion knowledge of area visited poor.

Disgraceful company, what should of been a relatively smooth and quick transportation to a place only 6 hours away at the most turned into a long and uncomfortable 12 hour journey, there used to be an interchange not far from me where you got on a coach and stayed on it until you reached your destination, now it seems that almost every holiday is out of your area for pick up and costs extra to have a taxi pick you up, take you to a coach, drive to a service station then transfer again, the coach me and my 81 year old mother were on had no facilities ( toilet) due to "covid", yet the first coach you were able to use the toilet? Coming back as we were late arriving at the interchange we were not able to pop out for food/drink or to stretch our legs, only allowed roughly 20 minutes in 2 intervals then nothing for another 5 hours. Most of the passengers agreed it was all a joke and would never travel with shearings again, bad company, no communication, lost a lot of trust. Never again

Would never use this company again, we were assured that they were coronavirus aware, at no point was anyone temperatures taken before boarding coach we found the hand sanitizer ourselves! We were passed around from a mini bus to a coach then get off then get back on then collect more passengers, the return journey was very long from boarding coach in IOW at 7am finally arrived at our drop off point nearly 12hrs I could have flown to USA quicker. It was our first and last coach holiday.

Disappointed! First and last trip with Shearings as I trusted the company to organise a good quality trip but it was not the case! The coach from Rugby to Llandudno was not comfortable at all, very little space for the long journey. The hotel was an absolute disaster, the worse I have ever come across, we could not shower the water was boiling, when the technician was called we were told the building was 250 years old and the problems over 60 years old! The food was appalling, frozen meals reheated only the breakfast buffet was decent, this is NOT a 3 star hotel - it's a 1 star at most. Avoid!

Went with Shearings to Marine hotel Llandudno which we have been to many times with Shearings everything was fine until the last night when our coach driver told us to bring our cases down to reception by 9am, our cases had been taken to our rooms when we arrived but not so going home. When we all had got our cases down, which was in itself a struggle for older people, we were told to put them in the coach ourselves! this is not what I or most people expect on a coach holiday. The new owners of Shearings will have to improve their service before I go with them again.

Railway journeys of Isle of Man Shearings/Leger Lovely enjoyable 5 day break on Isle of Man. Booking: Huge thanks to lady at Shearings Customer Service for getting our local pick up point added (late booking & route had already been finalised). Journey/drivers: pleasant & amenable but see below re: Douglas itinary error? Hotel: Ramsey Park Hotel, won't win any design awards (modern cube style) but clean, excellent LARGE comfy bed, tv, everything you needed AND free drinks voucher if you opted not to have your room serviced every day. EXCELLENT FOOD, best Shearings food EVER, I fully recommend.
Best mushroom soup, beef & lamb meals were best I've ever had. HUGE puddings that I could only drool over. Buffet style continental breakfast with table service for freshly cooked breakfast items. Very well catered for Gluten free (although menu could be a bit clearer re:GF and more desert choice) Staff friendly & helpful. Right by the seafront and Moray Park which has a lot of amenities.
Fair walk into a rather lack lustre town. Destination: Isle of Man fairly weather dependent and quiet. Still many things temporarily (some permanently) closed from Covid restrictions. Douglas (the Capital) was pretty much bypassed by our coach which is a bit baffling cos I thought we were meant to visit?! only saw it for 10 mins to get our trains. Snaefell you need good weather to appreciate the stunning views, luckily it wasn't too bad for us. Laxey. Laxey wheel currently broken but still wanted to charge entry. Peel gorgeous weather made this, nice seaside setting, spotted dolphin in bay, pretty castle (not open), museums were open. Steam train to Port Erin pleasant enough.
Better weather needed to enjoy the small seaside Port. Addition to itinary to take in The Sound and see the Calf of Man. storm weather totally spoiled this, was actually scared I was gonna get blown off the land. Great cafe, quick service despite 3 x coaches arriving and they did Gluten Free cake THANK YOU. Creagnish (village where time stood still) all passengers declined to get off the coach as the stormy weather made this very unappealing. I enjoyed the Isle of Man and this tour covered it fairly well. Don't think I'd come again as I consider it done but certainly worth a visit.
