A very nice hotel in a beautiful location. Jane has helped us check in and she was amazing, professional, friendly and super polite (superb customer service skills). The room view was on the canal . Breakfast was basic but delicious, staff were very welcoming. However WiFi signal was very poor and this is the only criticism I have. Definitely coming back. Thank you for making our stay special.

Really lovely hotel with good spa facilities. Our room was a bit small and the bathroom very pokey but this could have been because we had an end of corridor/corner room. In any case, the room was clean and served our purpose for a couple nights away. Staff were very pleasant and we also enjoyed a meal at the hotel. Bar and restaurant were both very popular here.

Rather a small room for a three night stay. Cleaning was not as thorough as it could have been. All staff we came across were very friendly and did a lot to help us enjoy our stay. Great location for city centre, restaurants/pubs, station and has it's own car park opposite hotel.

A really lovely hotel in a great location. Nice to stay somewhere with a bit of history. An old mill situated on the canal now turned into a large hotel with an adjoining building over a bridge providing leisure facilities including a pool. We were only here for one night but it was lovely. Parking is available close by which is always a bonus. Our room was small but adequate, it had everything you needed inc tea and coffee making facilities The bathroom was compact with shower, which was great, really hot water and quite powerful.

There's a restaurant and a bar but we went out and about. You're just on the outskirts of the town but within easy walking distance and you have the added bonus of being on the canal, some visitors might never get to this bit. We walked through the park for easy access to the river, a short walk along the river and you come to the Roman walls and one of the main gateways into Chester. Breakfast was included and I thought it was excellent. Lovely restaurant with views onto the water. self service buffet style, a lovely start to the day

Central location, along the canal, convenient for the Cathedral and City centre. 6 minutes walk. Clean, full of character room. Efficient staff. Breakfast and evening food very good and reasonable prices. Parking available. Worthy of 4/5 rating. Will return

Went to the Mill house spa for my partner 40 birthday. We had a lovely time. The service from start to finish was excellent. The staff were all friendly, helpful and have a great sense of humour. The hotel was clean. The food was excellent. The spa treatment was out of this world. The hotel is in a perfect location. Just a 10 minute walk from the town centre. And plenty of car parking spaces. ( parking is 5 a day) truly a lovely time. Definitely would go back one day.

Stayed for a couple of nights. Most enjoyable experience. Will stay again. Rooms modern and very white but not a problem bathroom clean water hot. Food, homely with the usual touches. Dinner a touch pricey but for what you get and quality not bad really. Breakfast, jolly dashed scrummy served buffet ( due to covid ) Pool, sauna gym first class Clean tidy well supervised. Staff; what can I say about them.

Professional most definitely uniformed absolutely Friendly oh my word so friendly made us feel so welcome Breakfast was a comedy show the host was terrific, yes it was a show but not put on, conversations remembered with guests. But all staff very good very friendly. And location perfect for city and walls Thank you for the experience

We had a weekend here bought as a Christmas gift from our children and we weren't disappointed, the room, although basic, was extremely clean, the bed was comfy and the shower worked well. All staff were extremely friendly and couldn't do enough for you, although we wouldn't visit Chester again, if we had to we would definitely book here again. The only downer, apart from not having a fridge in the room, was they charged for the carpark, which we didn't know about until we got there, but can understand why they do, being right in the middle of the city.

Stayed here several times in the past and have always enjoyed ourselves. This time was no exception. The staff are always so friendly and accommodating. We stayed for two nights incorporating the New Year's Eve Dinner Dance. Absolutely fantastic time. Bedroom was clean and spacious as was the bathroom, bar area was well stocked and well run. Will definitely return soon.

Above average room size(South Wing, floor 5), comfortable bed, basic bathroom. Parking was a slight issue finding a space as hotel was fully booked. Pool, steam room, sauna and jacuzzi were all working and very clean. Breakfast was above average, though only serving tea and instant nescafe as coffee machine was broken for two mornings in a row( though it was on the Bank Holidays after Christmas, maybe they couldn't get the service person out?) Nice bar areas and a unusual bridge linking the buildings over the canal. All the staff that I had the pleasure of dealing with were very polite. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

The room was nice as it had a bath and was quite spacious, but I'm giving 5 stars because of the spa! I had 2 amazing treatments at the spa and used the pool/sauna/hot tub. I had the best facial here and will definitely stay again if I return to Chester. My stay was so relaxing. It is located in a perfect spot between the train station and the city centre.

An old converted canal side Mill premises with a great many facilities inc Full pool and Spa, several eating options including its own canal barge restaurant, and CAMRA list Real Ale bar. We stayed here for 3 nights chosen because of location, CAMRA listed premises, good value onsite parking. We stayed on the 5th floor in a standard room, which for two adults both with cases was a little small, but ok for what we needed. Breakfast was buffet style and had the expected range of food and was OK. We would probably stay here again if visiting Chester it was handy for everything

I really expected this to be a great place to go for a lot speciality beers, but it just didn't live up to expectation. It had sticky floors and the food did not look appetising. I would love to give it a better review as there were a lot of different beers on offer, but I'm afraid it needs an overhaul.

The Mill is quit a busy place as it is a Hotel, gym and restaurant(s) in one. The Hotel sits on both sides of a canal and the rooms on the side closest to the town are much better as this is the newer section hence these rooms are a couple of pounds more thou you are better of paying this as in the older part the rooms are ok but a little bit worn looking.

The hotel offers a great breakfast what includes anything you could think of. There are a couple of restaurants in this hotel and including one on a barge what sits on the canal. The bar gets fairly busy but if you fancy something different that town centre is only a couple of minutes walk away. In general it's a good place as its very central

I've never stayed in the hotel but I have used the bar and the gym although not at the same time : The bar at the Mill Hotel has the widest selection of real ales that I've seen in Chester. From memory they usually have around twelve guest ales on at any one time. If you're in and around Chester and you like your ale the bar at the Mill is worth a visit.

The gym is exceptionally well equipped and the staff are very knowledgeable. Unlike a lot of gyms the Mill Hotel gym is rarely over-crowded and this saves time hanging around waiting for machines.

This place is quite unique - it doesn't look that big on the outside, but it crams in quite a few features and options inlcuding several bars and restaurants (including one on a boat!) - as well as a cute little swimming pool and sauna plus a very well equipped gym. The rooms are basic but fine - the decor could do with updating but this isn't really a big problem.

And if you get a good deal on price (they do seem to fluctuate quite a lot) then this is a great place to stay in the city. Made even better by the facilities on offer - so don't forget to pack your swimming gear.
