We came here as a family, one room for us and one for granny and teenage daughter. We asked for a room with the least stairs for granny as she has mobility problems and were really happy that she was on the ground floor. Lovely twin room with nice shower/ wc room. We had a 4 poster room, really comfy bed and cosy room.

Lovely place. Everyone was absolutely lovely with us. We chose to have breakfast included with our rooms and it was ok. All staff was very nice and ready to help. The hotel looks nice. The room was very small but cozy. The only downside was that it was so hot. We had to keep the window wide open at all times as the heating was on all day. Apart from that we had a good time.

Lovely welcome when we arrived the room was nice a little dated but it was lovely and clean adequate drawer space could maybe do with a few more coat hangers. Tea and coffee and biscuits in the room. Getting the temperature on the shower was a little tricky but at least the water was hot. There is a nice little restaurant area and the food was tasty and a decent choice. The staff were absolutely lovely friendly and helpful. There is also a small outdoor seating area and a bar. There are some parking spaces at the rear of the hotel.

Superb location, within easy reach of the city centre or Chester zoo. Only 1 mile from the centre (easy walk) and 2 miles from the zoo. There's a car park that holds about 12 cars too. I believe there's a total of 26 rooms. They're a little small but suited what we needed it for. The top floor rooms have sloping ceiling though so not ideal for anyone around 6 foot!
You can't accuse this place of scrimping on the heating! I expected it to go off at some stage, but it was on all night. I was that hot I had to get up and open a window.in March! The bathroom had a heater (as well as a radiator), so great for a blast of heat if showering. Breakfast is served to order. The quality of the Cheshire breakfast was great and the level of service was exceptional.
The staff were friendly and attentative and you didn't have to wait too long for anything. The owners are extremely friendly too. Overall, it was a really great experience. I would recommend this place to others.

Lovely hotel within walking distance of the town. The room was small but adequate. We did book the last room at the last minute. The bar was nice and breakfast was good. It's on a fairly quiet street so no noise. The only negative is the uneven sized steps due to the age of the building. Some were high and others very low which is quite disorientating. The staff were lovely. We would definitely book here again.

Came for the weekend of 18-20 February, 2022. The place was lovely, old and a bit dated in parts, but it was cosy and welcoming. Loved the little areas for you to sit and have a drink, it was like being in a comfortable living room. The staff were so friendly but still efficient. Our room was a good size and we loved the decor, it was just so right for the place.
The bathroom floor creaked a bit, but that did not spoil our stay. I mentioned it because I know there may be people who would find this a bit annoying. We were in Room 21. It didn't bother us. There were quite a lot of stairs but they were short flights, so didn't bother me too much. I believe they have a limited number of ground floor rooms. We ate breakfast on two mornings. Smoked salmon and scrambled egg was delicious, as was the full Cheshire breakfast, not swimming in grease, and it was hot.
Everything was cooked to perfection. Didn't eat an evening meal there, but that's something we would do next time, as we would definitely stay here again. Well done, everyone at the Brookside.

Staff went out of their way to help and were very pleasant. Nice touch in the morning with a birthday table for my wife. Room was very good, had a slight issue with the shower which had a broken thermostat, they did offer us the use of another room in the morning if we wanted to but we managed. The only slight criticism would have been the over use of the microwave on the breakfast. Overall a very enjoyable stay. Only a fifteen minute walk in to the city.
