The Lodge Bar & Kitchen is a popular establishment in its own right, serving the finest selection of lagers, CAMRA awarded cask ales, wine, spirits and hot drinks. The bar is open until 11pm throughout the week, and midnight Friday and Saturday. We are family friendly until 9pm (no under 18s after 9pm) and children must remain seated with you at all times, both inside and outside the bar.
We use only the best ingredients sourced from award winning local suppliers. All chicken on our menu is free range and, along with the rest of the meat, sourced from high quality local butcher Geoff Hughes. All fruits and vegetables are sourced from local greengrocer Hoole Food Market. We add seasonal specials to our menu throughout the year so keep an eye out in the bar for our new additions!
The Lodge bar buys direct from over a dozen different breweries across the country including Abbeydale, Rudgate, Salopian and Thwaites, meaning there is always an interesting and varied selection of ales on offer. With prices from just 3.00 our cask ales are extremely popular and are rotated regularly, with over 300 different ales stocked last year alone.

Great affordable place to stay, staff are really nice and breakfast was good quality. Rooms where clean and the bar was well stocked and well run. So good booked for over new year # UPDATE# Had a family room over new year break, staff second to none room not so, toilet roll holder had been broken off wall and not replaced and whole bathroom looked tired and worn out, reported bathroom door handle twice and still not sorted. Marked down from 5 stars to 4 based on room only. Should be 3 but everything else was great.

Great 2 day break. Location is excellent. 10 minute walk to station. Close enough to the city centre to walk in while being far enough away to get away from the slightly inebriated race day crowds. Rooms very comfortable. Good value for money. We've paid more in Chester before and got considerably less. Staff are all very friendly. Won't hesitate to book again.!
