The White Horse Inn has all the traditions of a village pub, with home cooked food, fine cask ales and a warm welcome. We offer excellent accommodation - our individual rooms are en-suite, with all the comforts of home, including TV & DVD. The suite is divided into three rooms: the bedroom, with its own TV and large double bed, another room with a futon sofa and TV/DVD player and the spacious, modern bathroom.

The White Horse Inn is a traditional coaching Inn nestled in the beautiful village of Great Barrow in the Cheshire countryside, just 5 miles from the historic city of Chester. Boasting 4 guest rooms on site and a self catering cottage just around the corner plus an excellent selection of drinks and a fabulous home cooked menu, there is everything that you need for a relaxing stay at the inn. We are able to offer an outside bar and catering facilities for up to 250 guests for all manner of occasions. Ranging from a simple afternoon tea or finger buffet to a four course sit down meal with table service. If you would like your party at the pub we can cater for up to 45 guests seated and 100 if a more relaxed buffet style.
Our chef works tirelessly to produce wonderful food daily. His menu consists of home cooked food, sourced locally wherever possible and our menu changes at least four times a year with daily specials adding to the mix. Please be aware that we can get busy, especially at weekends and whilst we will do our best to cater for you it would be advisable to call ahead and book.

Did not stay here just came for food and wasn't very impressed with the attitude of the person called Jess. We had a starter off the menu which read " Garlic mushrooms with ciabatta bread and rocket with balsamic vinegar , it came with lettuce not rocket and when I told jess that it was not rocket she just replied with yes its not. Then the main came " chicken roast dinner with Yorkshire pudding, the chicken was a very dry breast fillet and I kid you not my Yorkshire pudding was more like a pancake. when I asked Jess what happened to the Yorkshire pudding she rudely replied with " I'll get you frozen next time. believe me there won't be a next time. I would not recommend eating here at all, ther was a lovely young lady serving here by the name of Lula who apologised for the food and for jess.

Sadly on arrival we found the pub closed until Tuesday so only spoke to the owner on the phone. We saw noone else so did not get the breakfast we had booked. The room was as described and comfortable. If you don't like church clock hourly chimes there is one here. There is a nice pub serving good food 5 mins drive away.

We stayed in an air b&b around the corner so used this place for dinner and drinks twice. the fish and chips was beautiful and crispy with excellent service from all staff here. the young lad with long hair couldn't do enough for us which was amazing service and the bar lady and manager were also massivly helpful. will deffo be bak again when we return to visit friends in chester

A short visit after a splendid walk from Great Barrow to Tarvin and return. Lovely day made even better by the excellent hospitality at the White Horse. A nice pint in the beer garden and an outstanding steak and ale pie. The inn is under new management and I hope them every success, with food to this standard and the level of service I think this is very likely

The room was very clean and spacious, it was wheelchair accessible although wouldn't be able to use the shower as it was a cubicle, we were thinking about taking my 93year old mother who has mobility issues. The gravel carpark would also have been difficult to manage. We had a lovely time, the staff were very friendly and the food was delicious.
