A great night's sleep is a must when staying with us, this is why we have invested significantly to refurbish all of our bedrooms in early 2017. We hope you like the new look bedrooms, with 40 inch HD televisions, beautiful decoration, extremely comfortable beds and luxurious duvets and pillows. Our family rooms, contain either 2 King size beds or a King size and corner sofa bed for the children.
Situated on its own little island, our peaceful canal side location set on the Wirral Peninsula, makes the Holiday Inn Ellesmere Port / Cheshire Oaks a perfect and unique setting for your big day. As you make your way across bridges and locks, a short stroll along the towpath leads you to the entrance of this unique venue.
Looking out at our surroundings, it is easy to see why we chose 'THE LOCKS' as the name for our Restaurant and Bar. The Holiday Inn was built in 1995, but it wasn't the first hotel on this site. The original hotel was finished in 1801 and was named the Canal Tavern Inn. With gardens, bathing huts and shooting buts, it was used by passengers on the steam packets from Liverpool to Chester.
The Holiday Inn Ellesmere Port/Cheshire Oaks offers a choice of 9 meeting rooms which can accommodate up to 270 delegates. All our rooms offer high-speed Internet access and air-conditioning and all our rooms have natural daylight and blackout blinds. Choices of meeting packages are available to meet your requirements.

I only attended the pool area and not the gym side of things so can only really comment on that part. When we walked in we were greeted by a lovely staff member who made us feel welcome as Non-members and explained everything about the pool and changing rooms. The male changing room doesn't have a baby change facility which I was disappointed about as this is 2022 and Dads should be able to take their children in with them as well.

The changing facility was small with roughly about 16-20 lockers which are coin operated. There is only one toilet in the male changing rooms and not even a urinal so larger parties be ware. The pool area was nice, albeit small, but great to take little ones for a swim. It just looks like it needs some money throwing at it unfortunately. New lick of paint here. Tinted windows so passers by aren't just staring in, that sort've thing. Overall I enjoyed my experience there with my little boy and it's great as it's quiet (when I was there) but I wouldn't frequent as a member.

Has everything you need, pool, sauna and gym. Not busy most of the time. Pool is small as is the gym so it's just as well not many people use, it would get crowded quickly. Changing rooms are very "tired" could do with a complete overhaul. OK value .

I'm a current member here and have been for around a year and a half. Gym is very small so if there are more than 3 people in there, it's rammed and struggle to get on any of the equipment. The Lesiure staff are mostly nice and welcoming. It seems like the hotel management don't really care about the leisure centre as when ever anything breaks it takes a long time to get fixed or replaced.

I use the sauna a lot and consider it as part of my work out. it's very tired and really needs replacing. Last week the Sauna broke and has been out of action since, when asked about when it's going to be fixed the answer is 'not to sure'. No appoliges or discounts offfered for things like this.

Take my son swimming classes on a Saturday the classes are great but the facilities aren't. Pool is small especially if it's a full class and with classes either side of his it gets very busy and the changing rooms are tiny so becomes a pain
