Hempstead House Hotel & Restaurant

Noise. For a hotel charging 400 per night to which for us is a standard room nothing special. Nice spa, food very tasty, although left us both a tucked to the toilet most of the night, and the music can be heard throughout the hotel. They had a wedding, fair enough but we wanted a nice weekend away. And the music was soo loud. Surely they'd sound proof the function room. Not had this problem with other hotel near by. Like the bridgewood Manor Hotel. Was more for the money and didn't even hear the wedding from our room.

Brilliant from start to finish. Every member of staff were polite and helpful and went out of their way to make our stay special. This was for my Nans 80th Birthday which I had told the lady over the phone when booking but only in conversation and when we went to dinner they had decorated the table and also bought out a desert with "happy birthday" written in chocolate. It's the little touches that make it really special, and it was so thoughtful. So thank you to everyone there. We are already planning our next stay!

My husband and I were married at Hempstead House on 30/04/22. The service we received by Danny, Lucy and every single member of staff from, reception, catering team, waiting and House keeping apologies if I've not mentioned anyone as you were all phenomenal, was second to none. We were made to feel very special and nothing was too much trouble. We had many family members stay from Friday through to Sunday and everyone had nothing but praise for all at Hempstead House.

So thankyou for helping us create what was the absolute best time of our lives. If you are thinking of using Hempstead House for your wedding or any other of their services then I wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Once again thanks to all.

This hotel is very accomadating. Nothing is to much trouble for them. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, the hotel itself is clean. Rooms are nicely decorated and equipped. The spa facilities are excellent, especially the hydro pool! Food in the lakes restaurant is absolutely fantastic, a, special thanks to Laura who organised a meal for my husband, who's a fussy eater. Breakfast is equally delightful, with quality ingredients used. I will definitely be back again. Thank you to all the lovely staff.

To be honest I was disappointed with the afternoon tea. I had ordered 4 afternoon teas, 1 dairy free which had been ordered at the time of booking. 3 of the afternoon teas were beautiful and I have no complaints but the dairy free one was not up to standard. It was bland and had no dairy free cream! It was 2 very dry scones with 2 packs of flora margarine.

I asked for a cream alternative as I have always had this with previous afternoon tea's but the lovely and apologetic waitress said they didn't have any. I just feel really disappointed as the others looked lovely, a real shame no effort was made to get dairy free cream. All of the staff here were lovely though so thank you to them.

Our favourite place to take our business guests for lunch. Beautiful and friendly place. We would highly recommend without the slightest of hesitation!

Lovely stay and great food. Was last minute as our hotel had to close due to the storm. Very accommodating. Only thing I'd note is that waiting staff need to be a little more customer focused and not facing away for long periods.

I was here for a course. What a lovely place. The staff were really friendly & helpful. A buffet lunch, etc. was supplied which was really, really good. Superb shortcake biscuits. Would highly recommend.

We had a great stay here. The staff were extremely friendly & helpful. The room was just beautiful and the bed was so cosy. All facilities were kept clean, especially the spa which we enjoyed on one day. I can't fault our stay and we have already re booked!

Loved our four day Christmas break. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel really embraces Christmas.so decorations, open fires and carol singing all added to the experience. Meals were of a very good quality & staff were excellent! Tip: if you book a room which says it has a walk in shower, check this is the case. Ours was a 'superior' room but shower was over the bath.

Staff at the hotel are fantastic. Super helpful and friendly, from the waiting staff to reception and also managerial staff. We booked a Deluxe room one night spa stay including a meal. The room was huge with a desk, bath and shower too. The hot stone massage was fantastic, lovely oils used. The food is fabulous, we loved the evening meal at the hotel, we had the lamb and turkey for mains plus a starter and desert. Delicious.

The menu was well thought out with plenty of choice. Breakfast was also superb, fresh croissants and cereals and a full English breakfast is available too. There are lots of different areas to the hotel which gives it a really intimate feel, lots of nice bar areas and snugs etc. Visiting in December also means that there are Xmas lights outside and log cabins and things which adds to the experience and makes it feel really festive and fun.

I think that the bathroom could be a bit cleaner. Apart from this, the hotel and experience was superb. Big car park. Unlikely to return, given the distance from where we live but will recommend it to friends.

I had my wedding and reception here in May 2014 with 65 guests. When we first visited the venue we spoke with Anita who was great and she proceeded to arrange everything for us. The staff were brilliant on the day, really organised and professional. More than just a couple of our guests remarked on how great the staff were. The food was lovely and so were the drinks.

The variety offered was really good and dietary requirements were not an issue. The venue itself was really picturesque and great for photos. We stayed in one of the deluxe rooms which was lovely. The next day we treated ourselves to some spa treatments, again the service was impeccable. An absolutely wonderful wedding venue and I have some great memories thanks to the staff here.
