Attended my goddaughters 18 th birthday party yesterday 9 th June 2022 being held in the ballroom/function room From arrival the staff was not welcoming harassing every guest who arrived We are showman who like to celebrate our childrens turning of age I feel they way being very disrespectful and racist to all the guests thinking we was gypsies although we explained we was not (although this should not make any difference as they excepted the booking) The staff made a day that as meant to be special a nightmare with most of the guests leaving or going up to there rooms They would not even serve the the birthday girl I felt very intimidated Do not book this hotel for your events

I WAS BOOKED WITH ST. GEORGE HOTEL BY MISTAKE AND PAID 330 FOR 2 ROOMS AND 3 NIGHT STAY I DID NOT SHOW UP BECAUSE LIKE I SAID I WAS LOOKING FOR ANOTHER HOTEL AND MISTAKENLY BOOKED ST. GOERGE. AFTER A DAY OF NO SHOW, THIS HOTEL FRAUDULENTLY TOO THE 300 FROM MY BANK ACCOUNT AND LEFT ME AND MY FAMILY WITH NO MONEY AT ALL I WROTE TO THE HOTEL STATING MY PREDICAMENT AND SPOKE WITH THE MANAGER FRAN BUT SHE WOULDN'T REFUND MY MONEY EVEN ON HUMANITARIAN GROUNDS. BUT THE HOTEL ROOM WAS DEFINITELY GIVEN TO ANOTHER GUEST FOR THE DURATION OF MY SUPOOSED STAY. SHE INSISTED ITS THE HOTEL POLICY TO TAKE MY MONEY BECAUSE I DID NOT CANCEL. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THEM. NO HUMANITY IN THEIR BUSINESS AND THIS WILL BE REPORTED ALL OVER THE WORLD FOR THIS ACT OF WICKEDNESS

This Hotel shares a building with Dragon Coworking Offices. To access the the offices there's a side entrance, but for new visitors, they will likely approach the St George Hotel Desk. I mentioned to receptionist I'm here for Dragon Coworking. Despite being a grown adult, she appeared totally incapable of using her words. She rolled her eyes at me and said nothing. Luckily, the very polite and respectful owner of Dragon Coworking was there to greet me once he overheard my one-way conversation with the receptionist.
I imagine if you stay at this hotel and have complaints or enquires, you'll be treated the same. I have no idea how such a rude, anti-social woman managed to secure - and remains employed in - a client-facing role. Avoid this Hotel if you'd like to be respected.

There's wasn't heating in the room, was very cold.(10. October 2021). The view was wonderful. The breakfast was little, I still was very hungry. They said it will be continental breakfast but just two toasts, two eggs and coffee was. Staff wasn't helpful, wasn't nice. Slowly, even there was only few guests I will NOT BACK again.!

Location wise the hotel is good. Walking distance from the station and close to many restaurants. I stayed in a single room and it clearly doesn't look like the pictures on booking.com however it does the job and for that price one cannot expect more. Good if you're just looking for a place to sleep.

Where to start? Hotel seriously in need of modernisation and updating. Reception/bar staff just lovely and helpful considering they covered both posts. We had a room on the fourth floor. Clean but basic, very basic. That's all I can say about that. Breakfast included in the price. Hope you like full English as that was all that was on offer. No cereal, no fruit?
How hard is that to provide. Toast always seemed to be toasted one side only, even when we sent it back to be re-toasted. Coffee? Think it was coffee. An ok place for a workman needing a bed if he's working locally but wouldn't recommend it for couples and certainly not families. Not one of our better choices.

Hotel St George, Only 2stars which seems a little harsh for sure it's not the Dorchester but it's a cheap place to stay if you just need a base for the a few days. Rooms are clean and basic however the breakfast which is included was absolutely spot on. Surrounding area has some really nice walks the marina is also a lovely place to take a stroll. So if you want somewhere cheap to stay with a splendid breakfast hotel St George it is.
