The Cherry Tree Hotel is in a prime position on Paignton sea front with open views over the bay to Torquay. The magnificent vista from the sea-facing rooms pans across the green to show off the long sandy stretch of beach & the Paignton Pier, with its stunning views of the English Riviera. The Cherry Tree bed and breakfast Hotel has 20 en-suite rooms, with complimentary private parking and WiFi for all guests.

Indulge in a hearty full English or vegetarian breakfast, lingering in our sunny and bright dining room over coffee or tea, whilst making plans on how to spend your day. The Cherry Tree can cater for vegetarians and special diets - advance notice is always appreciated!
Children under 2 years of age - No charge when sharing with 2 adults and only with prior notice. Balance of payment is due on arrival by either cash or credit/debit card only. We can only accept payment for balances by cheque, providing the cheque has time to clear before arrival. Most major credit cards are accepted.
Paignton and its marine heritage go back even further than the Domesday book. Entered into this famous book in 1086 as Peinton, it confers an ancient heritage on the original village which was believed to have been established around 700AD. People have always come to Paignton for the beautiful sandy beaches & temperate climate.

This place is Fantastic! Great location! Great breakfast! Great bed! Great time! We absolutely loved our stay, we got looked after so well and massive thank you to Kate and her sister, they were uber cool and made us feel so welcome. Even the booking was fun! If you are looking for a wonderful place to stay in Paignton right next to the sea then you cannot do better than the Cherry Tree! We will be back! 1st class service and best breakfast ever! We were lucky to stay with Trish and Alan for five days thanks to a last minute cancellation. We can absolutely recommend this hotel without hesitation, they are really nice people and gave us good recommendations. You can sense the passion and pride they take into accommodating their guests and looking after them well. Our room had a four poster bed and sea views.
I am not going to count the slightly longer waits during breakfast as a negative as this is obviously necessary to accommodate Covid-19 measures. The only slight negative for us was that our mattress was not very comfortable. If you are looking to make a trip to the Torbay area, this is a fantastic location. The steam train to Kingswear is only a 5 minutes walk away.
The beach is 1 minute from the hotel door, with the harbour being 3 minutes of walking. There are ferries from the harbour to Brixham if you don't fancy looking/paying for parking there. The bus stop to Torquay is very close to the hotel as well. Finally, there are parking spots right in front of the hotel specifically for guests. Thank you Alan and Trish!

This place is really the best. Its like going home. You wont find a better welcome or owners than here. Their knowledge of places to go is endless. Time is taken to get to know you and you definitely leave feeling part of the family. As if that wasnt enough the food is superb, the parking is free and i think you are in the best spot ever. Close to everything. Thanks for another truly magical stay.

Already on our arrival Trish met us and gave us plenty of ideas for places we could visit in the area to suit our interests. The room was very clean and had everything we needed for a weekend stay. Very good location with excellent onsite parking, close to torquay, brixham, berryhead and even Dartmouth all being very easily accessible from here. Trish and Alan were amazing hosts and we look forward to returning.
