One of only a few Paignton hotels with a prestigious four diamond silver rating, the Beresford Hotel has eight en suite bedrooms all with digital televisions, a comfortable residents' lounge and a sunny dining room. We are situated in a quiet side street only 100 yards from the seafront and only three minutes walk from Paignton town centre with its wide range of shops, restaurants, pubs and other popular attractions.

After waiting thirty minutes in the small lobby to check in and only have two people in front of us in line, we had to deal with an extremely unpleasant front desk employee. Her attitude was extremely sarcastic and ignorant towards all guests which was very unwelcoming to a city I just arrived to for the first time. The rooms were VERY small but as expected in a large city, I didnt expect much room but was surprised by just how small the rooms, especially bathrooms were. I always read reviews before booking hotels and never write bad ones unless it is absolutely needed. I hope future guests that stay here have a more pleasant experience.

This hotel was exactly what I expected for the amount that I paid. Yes the continnental breakfast was just cold food items and that's what I expected. Yes the room was a little small, but that's what I expected. Overall it was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, the White Horse Tavern was very cute and had great vibes. It is in a great location, within walking distance of China Town and the BART for easy access to public transport.
I would recommend this hotel as a great budget option when visiting San Fran. Someone noted that there is no air conditioning and I think that's just par for the course in a lot of places in California. My apartment in San Diego doesn't have AC and it's because most of the time we don't need it. I would look at the weather when you're travelling and book accordingly.

The hotel is centrally located, the rooms are clean but need updating. Perfect parking service, one of the cheapest in the center. When checking out, we had requested to have the car for a specific hour but the staff present but not very attentive forgot or did not take notice, so we still had to wait 40 minutes at the reception. The breakfast is poor, almost non-existent, better to save money and get it along the way. The elevator may seem very noisy if you have the room next door, but fortunately at night it is hardly used. Recommended for the location and for the cheap price.

Great location, walking distance from a lot of attractions and dispensaries. Bed was very comfortable, room was a little outdated but for two guys on weekend trip, it was perfect. I do wish the outlet placements were better, had to charge my phone by the tv, not the worst thing ever but it would better just having the by the nightstand. Bathrooms are nice and clean. The one bad thing is the continental breakfast, it's just not that great, not a real breakfast. Lucky there's a great diner down the street.

Hotel rooms are very old and extremely small. Not a lot of plug points too. The location is also noisy however is close to all amenities. Hotel charges $40 per night for valet parking which is standard in the area. Breakfast is pretty average (mostly sweet). Free Wifi was helpful. Staff are friendly and nice.

We had a wonderful stay. Charming hotel in an excellent location. We were fortunate that the weather was cool though as the rooom has no air conditioning. Had the weather been hot the room temperature would have been uncomfortable. Rooms are small and a little dated. But we still enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.

Nice hotel with great location. Although it's a old building has been cared with some flaws like the furniture is work and mistreated, lacks a little maintenance. The worst issue is the sound of engines working all night. You can get used to it, but it takes a while. Comfy bed and pillows, cozy place.
