My daughter paid 57 for me and my wife to have afternoon tea at beech Hill. Food was just OK. Nice setting over the lake.but when the waitress came out to ask if everything was OK I asked for our half bottle of champagne. She didn't know anything about champagne. When she checked at reception. She came back with the bottle but no glasses. So we said don't bother. We will take it home. It would have been nice to have had the champagne with our food and enjoyed the views.

Shocking! Arrived to a receptionist that gave no welcome other than "rooms not ready". Paid 160.00 massages but couldn't use the pool or facilities To use pool etc 18.00 per person but even then you may not get in as limited numbers Rooms not cleaned came back dirty towels beds not made no one had been in to clean Even Premier Inn cleans the rooms Reception staff poor!
Bar staff and restaurant very good Spa massage very good Rooms clean but extremely tired and dated Male manager very helpful Such a shame as when we questioned things they couldn't care less Beech Hill you need to review your policies as you have stiff competition elsewhere

Just got home after a 2 night stay Hotel was very nice.brilliant service from the staff.nothing to much trouble. We had a package which included the spa and a beautiful cooked breakfast ( definitely recommend) the continental breakfast is all you could ask for on its own.however the cooked breakfast was perfect. Room was clean and tidy.we had the basic room.but it did the trick.beautiful views We stayed 2 nights.would only recommend the maid to renew the tea tray etc Spa facilities which I have to say offer amazing facilities.sauna room.beautiful pool and lovely outdoor jacuzzi x 2

The hotel is nice, rooms were in a good condition and decent size with fantastic views of the lake. The spa is really great, outdoor hot tubs over looking the lake are particularly special. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The one thing I would say is don't bother with the continental breakfast is you are staying one or two nights.

We had a nice stay. The hotel is quite ran down from the entrance of the car park, it does not give it a good first impression. Staff were all lovely and attentive. Used the spa facilities booked a couples package at 185 however we were still charged 17.50 to use the pool, which We thought was cheeky considering we were residents also. We booked dinner bed and breakfast.
The food was good, but was u pleased that the menu contained extra charges for things like a rump steak, cheese there always seemed to be pay extra for this and that. Breakfast was also the same had to pay an extra 26 for 2 cooked breakfasts. The lounge and restaurant needs updating the colour scheme is dull. But the view of the lake is amazing. The room was basic but very clean, also needs a revamp. On the whole we had a good stay

Good location for Windermere and local attractions. Room was clean and had a nice lake view and was a good size. Continental breakfast was good, I didn't feel the need to pay extra for a cooked breakfast. The swimming pool was good, with jacuzzi, sauna and steam room, but you need to pay 17 extra to use this. Not a bad price if you intend on spending 3 hours there.
There seemed to be a lot of couples using it as a spa day, rather than actually swimming. The room wasn't serviced whilst we were there. Apparently they were short staffed, but our bins needed to be changed. Overall a good hotel and I would use it again as it was comfortable.

The lake view of the hotel is stunning. So the bar area, our room and the hot tubs all have a great view! Spa facilities are good. I had a facial massage and it was ok. But the noise cancellation in the rooms is poor so it was quite noisy at night. We could hear the TV and conversation next door and it was a bit annoying. So if you just use the spa and go out at night without staying much in the room, this is a good place to stay.

The Good: - The spa is lovely and the staff there were really friendly; particular shout out to Zuzanna who was super nice - The continental breakfast is tasty - The hotel is in a great location right on the lake - The view from the superior room is lovely and it's nice to be able to wake up and walk straight out from the room down to by the lake Less good: - I don't mind the 13 charge for a hot breakfast but we had a charge added to our bill for a Full English we didn't order, the receptionist showed me a receipt as if it was proof we'd eaten a hot breakfast - I think the last time I stayed here, spa access was included, so a little disappointed it's not anymore - just something to consider in terms of cost when booking

I had the most amazing massage I've ever had (and I've had a few!) at the spa. My masseuse was Dawn and she was such a lovely calming person. I felt instantly relaxed by her demeanor and approach. I'm 7 and a half months pregnant and she took extra care providing additional pillows and being understanding and patient when I took a little longer to turn and position myself because of bump.
The massage itself was fantastic and I didn't want to get up from the bed at the end, to put it quite frankly, there was some snoring at several points throughout and it wasn't coming from Dawn. The outdoor jacuzzi was so lovely, especially on an evening with the cold fresh air and amazing view. The staff in general are really friendly and quick to respond to requests.
I asked for additional pillows and they arrived within minutes. Unfortunately there is one complaint and that's the mattresses. They weren't firm and seemed quite old and lacking in sturdiness. I could feel the springs in the bed creaking and sinking. I woke up aching because of this and struggled to get comfortable and sleep. I complained about this on the second night and was given a room upgrade to The Ruskin Suite but the mattress there was no better.
I have attached the photo of the bed in the upgraded suite and you can see where the mattress dips and that's with no weight on the bed. I spoke with the manager before checking out and was given some compensation and an apology so I feel like I can't complain too much but for me, a good night sleep is one of the most important aspect of a break away. It was the first time I've longed for my own bed when staying in a hotel room.

Just a great place to relax and unwind. Nicely appointed room with good attention to Covid cleaning etc. Lovely views across the lake. Large restaurant area has relatively limited but really tasty menu. Great service. Excellent breakfasts. Great to access local walks, handy for much of the Lake District itself. And that's before you mention the spa.!

The staff was wonderful The hotel has lots of history We stayed for my husband's birthday card and wine in our room on arrival. We was over looking the lake which was stunning. The room was very comfortable and clean the heating was on and very warm. We visit the spa which is worth the extra payment pool hot tubs steam rooms and sauna. Sadly I wasn't able to book a treatment as everything was fully booked.
Breakfast was lovely continental/ full English. Evening meals are very well presented and really great value. I couldn't recommend this lovely hotel enough. I have read some awful remarks which I feel Are unjustified. I will definitely be back for another stay! Thank you Kath Ehsanullah x

For the price of the room we didn't expect to have to mop out the bathroom after using the shower! Spa treatments - ridiculously overpriced. Nearly 20.00 per person to use the pool/jacuzzi! Drinks - bought both drinks in the afternoon and the evening. bizarrely the price increased for the evening drinks! Beautiful hotel with lovely views over the lake, but to be honest it's massively overpriced for what you actually get.

Fab break, lovely hotel and spa. Staff polite and friendly. Hotel in great spot with views of lake Windermere. Food was amazing, continental breakfast was fresh with plenty choice. Although visited in November and weather was damp still had lovely chilled break. Spa was clean and great for relaxation.

Awful hotel! We planned to stay 3 nights here to celebrate our 3 year wedding anniversary. On arrival to our room (select plus no.44) we had to ask maintenance / staff to come to the room because it was so loud. This was the second time we asked them to come to the room because the bed was too small for my husband, the images used on the website are incorrect.
We then got moved to another room (no.6 premier) it was a lovely room with a great view. Sadly when we woke up on our anniversary we were greeted by workmen walking in front of the windows who were peeking inside. they were also working on building the Windermere suite. hammering, drilling. awfully loud. The hotel did not make us aware that there would be a building site next door to us otherwise we would not have stayed here we wanted relaxation not Bob the builder.
The second night we were suppose to move into a better suite to celebrate our anniversary properly. This was made impossible because of the builders working directly outside our room - smoking, walking past etc. The general manager then made us move rooms for a third time (no.7 premium plus which we originally paid for - no upgrade given). this room was covered in mould and I also found a used sticky bottle of lube behind the pillow!
This was disgusting. We asked the manager to come to the room who said they didn't have any rooms left and they would simply bleach the walls for the mould. No comments were made for the lube nor the health and safety implications re the mould. Thankfully we managed to find a hotel (Windermere boutique hotel) to accommodate us that didn't have any mould or rude staff. Beech hill hotel and spa almost ruined our anniversary.
We had to cut our trip short because of this which was sad but I am so happy we didn't stay there much longer. We did get a full refund for the stay but bearing in mind we had to change rooms and take time away to deal with the nuisance beech hill handled the situation in the worst possible way. I would shout from the rooftops to anyone to avoid this place. Absolutely awful experience. I have lots of images for this place too.

Given the cost I expected more. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food was really good, the spa was really good too. Our room was not great unfortunately. Smelt like wet dog and on investigation there was mould growing up the wall. The lake view which we paid extra for was 30% lake 70% wall. If you switch the light on in the bathroom the fan comes on and the whole room shakes.
The lights in the bathroom switch themselves on and off independently. Although the food was excellent we had to order it in advance for a particular time. Given that we'd ordered it 4 hours beforehand, to then have to wait an hour for our main course is quite disorganised. Would I stay here again?. I doubt it.

Brilliant stay with my family. Extra special touches including enough towels, robes and even mugs with hot chocolate sachets in made it a wonderful time at the Beech Hill hotel for our family of 5. Pool had to be booked but we were lucky enough to get a good time slot both days of our stay. Clean, spacious room, even with an extra bed! Thank you Beech Hill, we will see you again.

Would've been 5 but the wasps ruined it! Sounds a bit silly doesn't it but the wasps were literally the only bad point about our visit to Beech Hill Hotel! This was the first stop of my birthday weekend planned by my girlfriend and we were here for the afternoon tea. The offerings of the tea itself were great, a nice selection of sandwiches, scones and cakes all with a huge pot of English tea! Now, the views - they are spectacular and you probably can't beat these views to sit and enjoy a drink on the balcony!
We had a good 30 minutes outside but then the wasps attacked and we had to go back in to sit on the extremely comfy sofas! I can't speak for the hotel itself in regards to rooms - but for a traditional, enjoyable and good value afternoon tea - Beech Hill is a good bet!

I'll start with the good: the crackling fireplace in the hotel lobby on a chilly late autumn evening, and our attic room in the original 1900s structure with rustic charm to spare - plainly but comfortably furnished, very clean, and with vaulted ceilings to boot. Sadly, that's where the good ends. Our room didn't have much of a lake view; the carpet (to judge from the fibers coming loose near the walls) needs replacing; and in case you fancy bringing along some wine, cheese and strawberries, say, you'd best keep in mind that you'll be lacking a fridge for the duration of your stay - a matter of small inconvenience to us, but potentially more serious for couples planning a longer visit.
The greatest inconvenience for us, however, was the lack of wifi in the rooms, which made it impossible to plan our activities for the day. They offer a few free leaflets downstairs, but (of all things) the actual fold-out maps are 1.50 apiece - certainly not the end of the world, but have you ever tried to use one of these things while driving a rental car?
The only place to connect to the web is in a downstairs lounge, where the connection speed is utterly abysmal, and which doesn't open for coffee until later in the day. Any way you look at it, this is a far cry from the industry-standard versatility you probably expect by simply having access to Google Maps from the comfort of your own room. None of these things would matter at a discount hotel. At this price point, however, I'd wager there's better value to be had in the area.
