This room is on the ground floor and has wide doors allowing easy wheelchair access. This room can feature either twin beds or a super king-size bed. Windermere is the most ideal location for a break in the Lake District because there is so much to see and do in the surrounding area including walks, shops, restaurants, guided tours, visitor attractions, golf and of course Lake Windermere, which is only a 10 minute walk from The Willowsmere. The spectacular viewpoint of Orrest Head is a must and this can be reached in just a 20-30 minute walk from The Willowsmere. There are plenty of walking routes available within easy reach from The Willowsmere.
From the South, follow the M6 north exit jct 36 and take A591 towards Windermere, at Windermere do not turn left into town centre, instead continue on the A591 towards Ambleside and we are situated on the left about 400 metres after St Mary's church. From the North, follow the M6 south exit jct 40 and take A66 to Keswick, follow the A591 south past Thirlmere lake and Grasmere to Windermere, at the mini roundabout continue straight on and we are situated on the right just a few hundred metres beyond the junction.

We had a delightful 3 nights here. Very friendly, like a home from home. The room was comfortable with good amenities and quiet too. Breakfast, although not included was worth the extra payment. Very tasty and locally sourced ingredients. We enjoyed use of the honesty bar in the guest lounge, which represented good value for money. All the staff were superb, cheery and interested in the guests. We will return and highly recommend.

Really enjoyed our stay here. The owners & staff are so friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely with a very comfy bed. The breakfasts are delicious using good quality ingredients. The Willowsmere is located in a great position for walking or driving to large array of places of interest. We would definitely stay again & recommend to others. The picture is from our room window.

We were apprehensive at first as we've stayed in hotel chains with strong reputations. But my god we had nothing to worry about. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, and the couple who run the hotel are truly lovely people who took the time to talk to us and give us lots of tips. The bedroom is lovely and clean, decor is very traditional. Strong wifi (always a must) but the best thing was the bathroom!
Absolutely stunning, i have never had a bath in a hotel, always a quick shower but you just HAVE to have a bath after those long, strenuous walks. If that doesn't convince you, they also have a rain shower which i love! There's plenty of tea/coffee/biscuits/hot chocolate available in your room. The hotel is so so clean and tidy, they check your temperature and hand sanitizers are available.
I always saw the cleaners around working. We had breakfast on the last day (7.50 each) and it was brilliant. You have changed my mind about holidaying in our beautiful country and staying in family owned accommodations. It was an absolute pleasure, i hope to stay with you again soon. Forgot to add, you get better rates booking direct rather than through booking.com etc. (Wish i knew before i booked!)

Beautifully curated home with a traditional, but genuine, atmosphere. Too many lovely touches to list but think 19th century luxury meets 21st century comfort and convenience. Beautiful rooms overlooking a scenic garden. Our hosts were just so lovely, polite, and efficient that every night was like being being in your favourite local. Will stay again.
