Barnsdale Hall Hotel & Country Club

We stayed in a lodge. Fairly good. The resort is set in nice grounds with views of Rutland Water. The new bar and restaurant is superb. The food we had on three occasions was faultless if maybe a little pricey. Would highly recommend a stay or call by for food. You won't be disappointed.

The room could have been a bit more spacious compared to the huge bathroom. Excellent breakfast and the chef on both days accommodated my vegan options. Disappointed sauna not available but enjoyed steam room and Jacuzzi. Views amazing from outside.

What a super 'find'! Having changed hands a year ago, the main hall is still being refurbished - May 2022 - but I discovered a wonderful restaurant and bar close by called Blossoms, open to the public as well as time-share customers who own the chalets there. I had a nice cup of coffee in the new super venue, all tastefully designed lovely tables and chairs so stylish and comfortable with settees and comfy armchairs available, with outdoor area.

There is a good selection of food available from a Bar Food menu and a restaurant menu after 6 pm. Roast dinners on Sunday from an A La Carte menu. Looks excellent. Apparently, the spa and hairdressers are open to the public also, to be explored on another day. Look out for street food coming shortly, to be served outside on the patio areas. So nice to see this old Barnsdale Country Club come back to life. in such a stylish and glamorous way! More later - I'm going back!

Nice venue with good views of the lake and excellent walks through the local woods. Food at the restaurant was fantastic. The only downside was the constant traffic noise from the very busy local roads. It was a constant presence when outside, but even in my room did keep me awake at night.

Stayed 2 nights in a lovely recently refurbished cosy room. No complaints whatsoever, clean and modern. Had absolutely wonderful meal in Blossoms restaurant and it was also first class. Good portion sizes and beautifully cooked. Service also excellent. Hotel in a lovely location with plenty of amenities. Would definitely return.

Was there for our son's wedding yesterday. 30 Apr. It was so beautiful. The staff could not have been a nicer The meal was lovely. The whole hall was decorated beautifully. We were there from about 11am till gone midnight, and the staff kept going and going. Considering how stressed I felt, before hand and as soon as we arrived, the stress just melted away. Thank you to the wonderful staff. What a wonderful day!

Gorgeous place. Going under a refurbishment at the moment but they didn't take anything from the experience. We did the valentines package for 299 room and 5 course meal. Which was exceptional. By far the best dinning experience we had. We will back soon!
