The Lake Isle

Visited as a group of six last night and enjoyed one of the best meals I've had in ages. Everyone else in our group was equally impressed. Staff were also absolutely fantastic. Thank you!

Not often I will give a five star review but The Lake Isle really deserves it, the staff are amazing and the food is a real cut above, try it yourself you will see what I mean

We've been meaning to visit Lake Isle for some years but for myriads of reasons never have - our loss. What a wonderful lunch dining experience we had. Exceptional quality and creative food, professional and well judged service in very pleasant surroundings. It took us years to visit, our return will be much sooner.

Impeccable service in restaurant for a party of 10 in a private room upstairs. Pre-ordering went well albeit menu slightly changed closer to date. Ambience excellent with welcoming snug bar and roaring fire downstairs. Food was disappointing given their reputation and top end pricing. For example lamb was dry, Kerala veg curry lacked flavour and figgy pudding was somewhat bland.

Fabulous as ever. Will always be one of my favourite restaurants. Loved every dish they presented and the choice was perfect. Efficient and very polite staff and just a super experience for any diner.

Rescued us in our time of need! A place we had planned to have lunch at (with a group of 7) rang us to say the chef had rung in sick and they wouldn't be doing lunch. After some desperate ringing around at 10am that morning to try and find somewhere that would be able to accomodate a group of 7 for lunch on a Sunday at very short notice, the Lake Isle came through!

They were incredibly helpful and very friendly. The fact they'd been able to find space for us at such short notice would honestly have been enough, but the food was also absolutely wonderful. The Sunday set menu had two vegan options and both were very much enjoyed by the group vegans.

We had a fantastic meal here. The starter of panko breaded scallops was one of the best things I've eaten in a while and my husband's steak was excellent. Lovely wine selection too. We also stayed the night. It was very comfortable and quiet (although bed was a little firm for my liking, but that's personal preference). Lovely breakfast and very friendly staff. They were very accommodating of our 6 month old baby
