We have been advised that the A606 will be closed for resurfacing from Barnsdale Avenue to the Oakham roundabout on the A6003. It will not be possible to turn off this road to Hambleton village. If travelling from the Oakham side access Hambleton via Egleton village. If coming from the east (Stamford, A1) turn right off the A606 onto Barnsdale Avenue, take the first left and left again at the water tower (A668) to drop down to Oakham. Pass the Co-Op fuel station on your right, left at the round about and straight on at the second.

This is an oasis of tranquility. Overlooking Rutland Water, the hotel is elegant, the service immaculate and the food sublime. My reduction of one star was only because my room overlooked the kitchens. I am also rather concerned that my room name appears to have an extremely unfortunate translation in Spanish but I stand to be corrected!

We stayed for 1 night ti celebrate my husbands birthday. We had dinner, bed and breakfast and our room overlooked the gardens and lake. What an experience! The food was amazing and the staff were exceptional. Their attention to detail to make your stay so great is brilliant. We've found a new favourite and will definitely be back!

Wow. This whole experience was a one off. It is without doubt a 100% Michelin star restaurant. The food was absolutely amazing. The staff cared for you like nothing else on earth. The only slight downside for us is that it is rather stuffy in its way and with no background music in the restaurant you feel you have to whisper rather than speak at normal levels.

Me and my family spent a weekend here for my daughters special birthday and what a time we had. From the moment we walked through the doors we were met with such a friendly welcome from their brilliant staff and this continued throughout our full stay. The rooms were gorgeous and the food some of the best we have ever tasted. Thanks for making such a special occasion so memorable for us all.

This was my first visit to Hambleton Hall, as well as my first Michelin star restaurant and it was faultless! The experience was incredible, great service, atmosphere and the food was amazing. Being vegan was not an issue at all, as you can see from the menu and photos. Definitely would recommend you visit

It was our first time staying and eating at Hambleton Hall (23/12/2021). This was a birthday gift for me. Entering the place was magical, you will get the feeling of being totally somewhere else! We checked in straight away at the reception. The lady who helped us was friendly, however, I wouldn't mind knowing a bit more about Hambleton Hall or something extra as we told her it was our very first time here.
She just told us everything we needed to know (key, times, breakfast etc.) so nothing special. The room was lovely, we had a beautiful view of the lake. We both loved the television hiding in the "small sofa". In the evening we had some canape and champagne which was lovely to have before the dinner. After 40 minutes we went to the dining room. I won't spoil too much because it's great to have surprises!
The food was amazing. we had a 3 course menu and every plate was just special and tasty. The people working there and helping us was all great, especially Antony (or Antonell in Hungarian?) went the extra miles! He was so helpful and even made it more difficult for us to choose the 3 course dinner as he explained everything so well and everything sounded delicious.
Thank you Antonell! The only thing we missed in the room was some hotel slippers. And between 00:00 and 01:00 (we are late sleepers) we ran out of water so I called for the reception but no answer. We checken the book with the information but couldn't find any times they were closing. Everything and all. we loved the experience at Hambleton Hall. We will definitely be back one day! Thank you everyone for making our stay so special.

Such a stunning venue, with beautiful grounds to explore! The food was absolutely amazing the service from point of entry from all staff members on front of house was top quality. When dining in the private area we had the top level of service from the front of house staff and great knowledge of all the dishes on the menu and the cheese selection was to be adored. We never had a glass empty and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Thank you to all #gohilandsonsweddingcarsltd

My partner and I spent the night at Hambleton Hall to cap off a week in Nottinghamshire. Overall, it was a very memorable and luxurious experience in a great country home that I would absolutely recommend. One of the reasons we stayed here was because Hambleton Hall is part of the Relais & Chateau association of boutique hotels, and this property certainly is a good representation of that brand.
We arrived somewhat later in the day, so we couldn't explore the surrounding village as much as we would have wanted to. When we arrived, we had been driving pretty much all day and were exhausted, but the staff of Hambleton Hall took very well care of us and showed us to our room and parked our car. It seemed effortless. The interior design and feel of the lobby and main areas is sumptuous and gives off a feeling of warmth.
The room itself was gorgeous and the furniture and bed were top notch. The bathroom was expansive, with ample room for toiletries and bags. We didn't have a very large room, so there wasn't actually much stowaway room for our bags. They were kind of the middle of the floor, but that's what we had to do. We got dressed quickly for dinner (which I will put in a different review, though it was also 5-star) and then sat in a common area and had some tea afterwards.
The breakfast next morning was absolutely delicious. We had had a late night, so we decided to have breakfast in the room, and it was one of the best breakfast is in the room I've ever had. They didn't forget anything, and they didn't use it as an excuse to give you less than you deserve. They had a basket of freshly-baked bread from their bakery, which was great.
Before check out, we went for a walk around the grounds, and even in late winter, it was still well-maintained and gorgeous. The exterior of the house speaks to how well kept the entire property is. The staff was friendly throughout the stay. I would absolutely recommend Hambleton Hall!

Just a quick update to shower further praise upon Hambleton Hall following a recent meal. First, the food was just as amazing as usual. My 'Assiette of Spring' was a celebration of the season with purple sprouting, asparagus, morels, wild garlic and a slow cooked hen's egg combining into a wonderful visual and sensory delight. This standard was more than followed in the following courses of locally reared Veal (with sweetbread raviolo & more morel mushrooms) and a white/dark chocolate pave. Second, the wine was superb.
The sommelier managed to find the perfect match for my relatively light veal dish, and my companion's richer duck and venison mains which was so delicious that I have already looked up where I can buy some more locally. Third, a member of staff went far above the call of duty by driving us the ten minute drive home when we were left stranded in Hambleton with no taxi available for more than 1 1/2 hours. This kind of commitment deserves to be shouted from every corner and I duly intend to do just that!
