A delightful building, the food was impeccable. The service was first class, but the kitchens were so far from the room we were in, and each plate was brought separately; no-one thought to use a trolley or similar. The choice food available was limited, due, apparently to our large numbers? Puzzling as they myst have a large number of covers on a regular basis. of Anyway, the overall experience was wonderful

Booked for a two day team offsite and had a fantastic stay. Rooms are beyond generous and the grounds are stunning. Meeting facilities are adequate and service at all times was fantastic. Food was great too. Good variety and super tasty. Might take a tad longer than you would like, but we are a big group so it's understandable. Totally recommended for professional or personal stays.

Extremely overpriced room rates over the half-term. Sunday: Breakfast order was 1 hour late on Sunday - lots of unhappy customers on all tables. Monday - breakfast order ready on time but our orders were mixed up. Could not face returning so just ate what arrived in order to get on with our lives. Tuesday - breakfast was half an hour late, cold and black pudding was obviously uncooked.
We returned our order without touching a thing. So off putting. Pool - great temp for kids, nice size and lovely changing rooms. Very sharp edges on the steps. You need to walk outside in the cold and rain to get to the pool as it is in a separate building. It felt like the chlorine level were perhaps too high in the air?, as our eyes were stinging withput diving - but wearing goggles sorted that out. Suite was ok but does not match the price. Outdated bathroom suite but everything worked. Clean.
Nice walks in the grounds but there is a very strong smell of sewage works as you walk down beyond the small lake. Best avoid. Summary: extremely disappointed and will not go back.

Beautiful old building situated in stunning grounds, we stayed in a gorgeous large suite with high ceilings, balcony and fantastic views of the forest. Enjoyed a delicious lunch, service a little slow but food was fantastic. The golf course is a little rustic, particularly the back 9 which are very short but unforgiving if you're not accurate. Back 9 greens in poor condition, but front 9 are OK. Will definitely visit again

Attentive staff from the off set. Concierge reserving a disabled space to taking flowers and balloons to the restaurant. Staff tending to our table were excellent wish I got their names, he was young, possibly Italian, good wine knowledge. The lady was funny had a wicked sense of humour. The meal itself was Superb! A lovely time had by all. THANK YOU.

New Years Eve. Thank you to all the staff at Ashdown Park who made our New Years Eve one that we will remember. From the moment we arrived every detail had been taken care of. Dinner and entertainment excellent and well planned. Room large and comfortable. It did not go unnoticed how hard the staff were working to make this a truly memorable stay. (even the next day at breakfast!). Thank you all and Happy New Year.

Really lovely couples break, stayed with the afternoon tea/dinner/breakfast package. Beautiful hotel and golf course. Free parking Staff are absolutely the best. Kind, helpful and make you feel at ease. All from the room staff to waiters to reception very lovely. They listened to our requests for food requirements etc and so we were able to enjoy all our meals.
The chef definitely needs complimenting. Excellent selection of food and really tasty. Haute cuisine. Room very nice with view. Big puffy pillows. Had a kettle, coffee machine, selection of teas and hot chocolate, TV and Molten Brown toiletries. Complimentary drinks and chocolate. Dropped a star as bed was not that comfortable.was a twin joined to a double, which is very common in many hotels but the mattress height between the two was noticeable and dipped and the shower water swung from warm to burning hot. Despite these minor flaws I'd recommend and would probably come again on a package deal

This grand manor house/hotel is beautiful and in a very lovely location with 186 acre of ground in the heart of Ashdown Forest. When you walk in you really do feel like you are stepping into history as its all so grand and old fashioned with the wood interior, ceilings and furniture. The bedrooms are all very grand as well with again its high ceilings and grand furniture.
Room 100 had a grand bathroom that was adorned by a massive circle stained glass window that took the whole of the wall up. So you could have a nice bath in the jacuzzi bath and admire the window. Room 3 was a very large studio suite with sofas and a large bed with a amazing Jacuzzi bath. If you get a Jacuzzi bath in your room don't put in to much shower lotion otherwise you will end up with bubbles going everywhere.
However the windows in room 3 during night kept on banging due to win so I had to go around and place paper inbetween the gaps of the window and i was awoken at night from people coming in from reception and coming up stairs etc. The grounds are beautiful and you can do many events here from horse riding to golf. I had a go at a Segway experience that was laid on when I went and archery which was both very fun instead.
The food at the hotel is quite nice as well however my dessert I don't think was that grand as I could taste the sugar in my lemon tart still (crystal like). The staff also don't seem very accommodating and helpful and a bit moody not very happy. So with the noise issue from windows and reception from my room and the staffs manners this is the reason why I only rate it 3 stars but the hotel itself is a 4 star just a shame about noise and staff. Would I go back properly not as I feel even though it is beautiful I think it is too highly priced and the service from the staff is not top notch in which it should be.

A well presented hotel in a stunning location. We were staying for 2 nights due my sister getting married there. On the first night I was dissapointed when the head waiter had a hissy fit when we turned up for dinner without a dinner jacket. Considering the price we were paying I felt this was slightly unreasonable.
