I don't know who's fault this is BUT when we arrived we were instantly turned away and told that they have been booked out for over 7 months due to refugees (and oddly enough at midnight it sounded like they were having a rave in a back room). Though the staff was friendly they stated they couldn't help us with the room we reserved (through Priceline) less then a month ago. The only option they gave us was to call Priceline but when we did the number they had on file didn't work

We found it disappointing that the hotel front, which is lovely, is not actually where we stayed. We were led through the Tudor frontage to a rather sad looking apartment block which really needs updating. The room was fairly comfortable but the cleaning standard was not good. The walls in the room were marked with something which resembled shaving foam and the view was of a carpark which was very littered.
We could not find where to get breakfast, even though it was advertised. It seemed that the kitchen was shut and we could find no one to ask. When we checked in I must say the receptionist was very nice and helpful.

Dingy the way nearly all hotels in England are. This place looks more like a motel than a hotel. The bathrooms are cramped and don't have showers, only bathtubs with poor water pressure. The worst part was the staff who were supremely unhelpful. The atrocious customer service becomes very apparent if you have any sort of problem with the room that you need help with.
You won't get it here. The advantages are of course the location which is central and close to a lot of shops. It is also at least clean, though the bathrooms have the type of tiles that never look clean no matter how much you scrub. In the end, the staff I interacted with was so annoying I cut my stay short.

I have spent a few nights here, and on the whole, I was pleased. Both rooms I have stayed in were large and clean, with comfortable beds. The parking was adequate, and the service was friendly. Unfortunately the showers, which are a fixed head on the wall, over the bathtub, were awful. The water pressure was extremely weak and the temperature was incredibly difficult to regulate - two pretty vital things if you want to take a shower! Also, because the head of the shower is fixed to the wall, you have no control on the direction of water or its point of origin.
It is for this reason that I have only left 4 stars. The location is good if you need the airport, as it is approximately a 10min drive away. It is also a short walk from Crawley town centre, so there are lots of shops available in the day time. However, at night it feels a little like a ghost town, with some places closing surprisingly early. The biggest plus, for me, is that they have some rooms that still allow smoking.
Although there is no law against this, most hotels seem to have completely done away with smoking in their roooms, and I shouldn't be surprised if it has reduced their profits. It doesn't make sense not to keep a few specific rooms that can be booked by smokers. Happily the Ramada Inn does exactly that!
