A very warm welcome to Gravetye Manor, a delightful historic hotel set in more than 1,000 acres of tranquil English countryside yet just 30 miles from central London. With a magnificent Michelin Star restaurant and acres of mature gardens to explore, our 17-bedroom Manor House offers a truly enchanting stay.
Originally created by visionary gardener William Robinson in 1885, they are now considered one of the most important historic gardens in England. Every tree, shrub and flower is lovingly cared for by our head gardener Tom Coward, and his dedicated team. This is where our home grown produce start their remarkable journey - from the ground to a gourmet meal.
The garden at Gravetye is an especially unique feature of the manor and a piece of heritage of which we are very proud. They were originally created by William Robinson in 1885 and are now considered one of the most important historic gardens in England. Robinson started life in Ireland in the poverty of the potato famine, where at an early age he trained as a garden boy. By the 1860s he had moved to London to work on the new botanic gardens in Regents Park, where he started his career as a garden writer.

Excellent! Wonderful setting; dining room is a masterful transition from the grand period country house hotel which transports you into the heart of the garden in all its glory and colour. The cuisine is a perfect match, wonderfully presented and deliciously prepared with a wine list to match. Attentive and efficient service. A very enjoyable experience.

Went for Saturday lunch and was well worth it. Fantastic peaceful setting and made to feel so welcome. As it was our anniversary they went the extra mile and threw in complementary dessert wine. All vegetables grown on site and you can taste the difference. Highly recommend and amazing dining room setting.

Our daughter took us here for Sunday lunch and it was amazing! Bit out in the sticks but beautiful house and grounds. Food and service were superb. Service charge added to bill which I felt was unnecessary. I chose foods I hadn't tried before and I was delighted with my choices. Set lunch menu 60 pp plus drinks, coffee etc. Great for a special occasion but doesn't rock my boat for going there regularly. Having said that, give it a visit, you won't be disappointed. There is no disabled parking, you have to park in the carpark.

The perfect venue for my daughter's wedding. Everything was wonderfully done with nothing too much trouble for the amazing team at Gravetye Manor, despite the storm of the decade arriving on her wedding day. A romantic setting, beautifully decorated with amazing food. Truly memorable in all aspects of her special day, thank you.

Fabulous venue, wonderful service. As a fine Dinning experience it is exceptional. Lunch was served in the conservatory dining room. Coffee was served in the luxurious lounge where a a warm log fire was burning. A few points of note albeit not to take anything away so to speak: It seemed a little odd to be asked to order the sweet at the same time as the starter and main course. Could not fault the food although my souffle seemed rather too sweet.
