Argyll Hotel

Stopped in for afternoon tea while on an island tour in September 2021 and had what I would consider the single most delicious coffee cake I've ever consumed. 10/10 adorable location, quick service, and amazing cake + coffee. My only thing is perhaps one savory offering for afternoon tea would have been nice - but that's 100% an Americanism that I can let go of.

Beautiful hotel on the stunning Island of Iona. Exceptional food.

This seven day visit was just supurb. The hotel might be called boutique, but the service and restaurant was top of the line in any measure you care to use. The owner and staff work hard to make you feel like they are only there to ensure that your stay winds up in your top 10, no matter who else is on the list. The meals were absolutely fabulous.

The meats were savory and with flavor layering so deep you tongue will question its taste buds' loyalty to your logic. The deserts always brought the meal to a 'perfect landing' every time. My only complaint? The menu wasn't 'deep enough' for a week-long stay, but that did give me the chance to retry my favorites without worrying I'd miss one.

A lovely hotel with great food and a very warm welcome. It's dog friendly too. Would highly recommend.

I had the Cullen skink soup and cheese n pickle sandwich. Probably the worst sandwich I have ever had. It was supposed to be home made but I got two ends of stale bread. Soup was lacking in flavour. Service was fine. And expensive for what it was

Made to feel welcome not rushed even though we were between services enjoyed a relaxing coffee and a beer before hit the Abbey.

Fantastic place to enjoy a coffee and a light lunch while waiting for our trip to Staffa. The smoked trout and egg sandwichs were amazing, mixed in with stunning views the Argll Hotel garden was magical.

This hotel from the outside looks picturesque, inside is very dated and lacking in atmosphere, a silent slightly miserable atmosphere, but I can't criticise the food and evening meal was delicious very well. presented. I wouldn't order the mushroom starter 10 and had literally four mushrooms, as a northerners family I'm afraid we chuckled at the lack of food on the plate. A bit of modernising in the dining area would make this 5 star restaurant definitely.

Not just location, location, Location but a first class family run hotel with quality and friendliness at its cire. We have booked a stay next year. Not cheap but uniqueness comes at a understandable premium.

It's worth the wait to get across to the Island so that you have a fab lunch or tea and cake looking out across the sea. You can walk it off afterwards.

Lovely hotel, stayed with my husband for one night as a suprise for his birthday. It was lovely and clean and all the staff were very friendly. I've only got one very small complaint which was the sachets of coffee in the room. It was very hard and looked like volcanic rock when I opened it. This was resolved straight away by the staff member and new sachets were given.

We had dinner that evening and the food was good but overpriced, especially our scallop starter. I have eaten in a Michelin star restaurant for less. But as a treat it was good, thanks for your hospitality and I would stay again.

The food here was very good and if it's fine you can sit outside and watch the boats going by.

What a fabulous hotel. Amazing food, super comfy beds and friendly staff. Such a warm, welcoming place to stay. Would definitely go back. We absolutely loved staying here.

It is perfectly positioned, oozes island charm, and offers yummy meals, snacks and beverages. And best of all, it's on Iona!

We called into this cosy dog friendly hotel for a light lunch - the soup sandwich combos were hearty and tasty and the raspberry Prosecco was a fitting accompaniment

What a place. Great location, great staff, great food (they can cope with fussy poets 'n' all - gluten-free, vegan, you name it). Very welcoming. I've led retreats here for 20 years now, and cannot imagine anywhere better. The participants seem to like it too :-).

I was just a stranger passing by for coffee an dinner but felt very welcome! Sitting in a quiet relaxing atmosphere was really nice Especially liked the food made from your own garden vegetables Wish you all the best!

This is a very special wee hotel.room was super cosy and comfy with a wonderful view to gaze on.staff really friendly and helpful.and amazing dinners in the restaurant.loved the fact there was no telly in the rooms.just books and the sound of the waves.bliss xx
