All with crisp, fresh linen, private bathrooms and/or showers plus tea & coffee. Join us for a delicious meal, made with the freshest homegrown ingredients from our organic garden and locally sourced produce, including meat from Maol Farm, Iona and seafood fresh from the clear waters surrounding our island.

Services
The St Columba Hotel is owned by a group of locals, former islanders and individuals with a close connection to Iona. So you can be sure of the warmest welcome. We want you to experience the Iona we know and love. So whether you want to spot wildlife, find an awe-inspiring walking route or simply the best place to watch the waves crash you only have to ask.
You can discover sea creatures in the rock pools, try your hand at fishing or crabbing and there's plenty of space for building sandcastles. You can take a boating adventure to nearby Staffa to spot the adorable puffins and visit a giant's cave! All that fresh sea air and minimal traffic should guarantee the kids a peaceful night's sleep.
We love dogs at St Columba and the island of Iona is the paw-fect place for a holiday with your four-legged friend. We even have our very own Labrador who you may see when staying with us. Dogs are welcome throughout the hotel building with the exception of the restaurant. However, should you wish to have your pet join you at mealtimes we will arrange to seat you in our cosy fireside lounge.
We have 27 comfortable, en suite rooms to choose from, with the option of sea view or garden view. Each room comes with tea and coffee making facilities with delicious complimentary shortbread, a hairdryer and Scottish Fine Soap toiletries. Included in your rate is a delicious full Scottish breakfast served in our dining room, with beautiful views over the Sound of Iona.

The service and food was excellent! Iona is an adventure to travel to. Bus, train, ferries! But worth the effort.

Bit different to all other hotels I've experienced. Lovely staff. The experience of bkfst - trying to do everyone at the same time - was generally not popular & probably dragged out the time it took. Similarly, no scope for individual ordering - it is either 'take it or leave it' for the cooked items. Buffet would probably be quicker & less wasteful.

Coffee is tasteless but it is the same in the Island's other hotel too. If coffee is too strong, it's easy to dilute but if its too weak there's no remedy. V good quality furniture & fittings but exterior woodwork needs rejuvenating. Wonderful position gives great views.

Just popped in for a beer on the way back from a walk. No draught beers at all! The bottle of Fraoch when it came was deeply chilled and cost well over a fiver. Then to add insult to injury they tried to overcharge us by a factor of two. I don't think I will be back.

Very good hotel, staff super helpful, little extras that make the stay perfect, such as beach towels and walking sticks which can be borrowed.

One of the best meals I've ever had. Wood pigeon starter was mental. All the service staff were great.

Myself and my husband had a lovely one night stay at this gem of a hotel. Staff were welcoming, warm, friendly and very accommodating. They were so helpful in regards to their beautiful island which we will definitely be revisiting. Our meal was beautiful and the breakfast choice is very good. Thanks for an amazing stay in this bonny wee island.

Review for lunch. Really nice food - a small menu but everything very tasty. Nice restaurant with lovely views across to the sea. Service very friendly and efficient. Only downside a long queue for the loos!

We stopped here for lunch whilst kayaking around Mull. They were happy to serve us despite us being dressed in our dry suits! The service was quick, and friendly, and they had a wide range of gluten free options. I had a delicious soup, and a local beef sandwich on home made GF bread, which was very welcome on a cold damp day. Top marks!

A very nice experience. Good food, pleasant staff. The view out of the window was awesome, highland cattle and geese with the sound of Iona beyond.

Extremely disappointing. I ate dinner at St Columba Hotel last week and was extremely disappointed by the over priced food. I paid 40 for soup, a basil crepe (there was a extreme lack of vegetarian options), 2 scoops of ice cream and some wine. The service was awful and one of the waiters was rather rude. I feel like the hotel is taking advantage of the captive audience being the only restaurant on the island. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, just head back to mull and get a chippy from the chip shop at the ferry terminal! Much better food for a quarter of the price.

Called in one morning and sat in the garden. Ignored by staff member who eventually said she was busy but would serve drinks but no cake or biscuits. We thought her manner was offhand and unhelpful. We returned later in the week for a meal and were very glad we did. Beautifully cooked fish and chips served by delightful staff team
