We held my mothers Party of Memories at the Ardmour House Hotel, following her funeral. I can not praise Joe, the Manager, enough he was determined to make her Celebration of Life special and perfect. The venue is a bright sunny room that leads into a garden. The hotel enabled us to create a very special day of rememberance, thank you.

The location was key to the stay. This hotel, staff, cleanliness, friendliness and helpfulness was what we were hoping for. It's a very pleasant walk into St Albans town and if you don't walk to walk there are plenty of taxis which arrive at the specified time and this hotel will arrange this for you. The bed was super comfy which is great for my back problem.
The rooms whilst are dated have been top quality and clean. Parking is great. Just one thing and it could be just me but some water in the rooms please. Nothing special but I was unsure of using the sink tap. that's all. I enjoyed my stay.

Had a single room, which was ok, it served its purpose for my stay. the shower was terrible, water spouting all over the place, the shower head holder was breaking and the shower fell out of it, so had to hold it in my hand. Hot water was scalding and pumped out of the sink tap at a ridiculous speed. but the food in the restaurant was really, really good. The few staff I saw were very friendly and pleasant. But it was a lot of money for such a basic, very small room.

2 large Edwardian houses joined by conservatories front and rear which are a seating area, wedding venue and restaurant. staff absolutely lovely, accommodating professional and very hardworking. the rooms vary, but as many are on the first floor up steep winding stairs its a no no for those with mobility difficulties. the ground floor rooms have ensuite, and comfortable beds and good bathrooms with showers.my room was changed to ground floor because of stairs, very comfortable but no natural light as facing a wall and fire escape.but it was an upgrade from a 1st floor single room, for no extra charge.all the rooms were beautifully clean too. the dining room has stairs to it too, not many but a pain. the grounds are lovely with a pleasant garden, decent carpark and fish pond. the breakfasts excellent.only negative was no decaff drinks and no proper coffee. the hotel isn't on a bus route and as ld chosen to arrive by train ended up paying for taxis everywhere.so drive there! Well situated for all local sites and a 20minuite walk from the rail and bus station.
