Hotels in St Andrews don??t come more friendly than this. Peacefully situated in the heart of historic St Andrews, The Albany Hotel is a delightful hotel conversion of a rather quaint, very traditional, elegant Georgian terraced house dating from around 1795. Our quiet location in North Street is close to St Andrews Castle and Cathedral, the University, cinema and the best of town centre shopping. The Old Course - which many of our guests naturally hope to play during their stay with us - is within easy walking distance.

I stay in many hotels due to my job and run a small B&B myself back in England. The Albany Hotel is excellent. Spotlessly clean ATD and the staff very proffessional. Drew the receptionist went the extra mile. Rearranging my room into a double due to mistake on reservation 5* plus very pleasant stay. I would highly recommend.

The room labelled as 'The Den' was awful. Carpet tacks exposed in the carpet as it'd come away from the skirting, dried blood on the wall in the bathroom, dirty and dusty with cobwebs and spiders everywhere, a wobbly shelf due to the screws coming out of the wall, a bathroom that has been fitted in to a cupboard, hot with a total lack of air. The room was terribly small making us feel claustrophobic.
After complaining, we were told we should go and stay elsewhere which we were happy to do so. Although this was also an incredible inconvenience considering we'd spent the morning travelling and had wanted to go and see the sights. I'd been informed by the girl on reception that the manager had inspected the room prior to us arriving. I struggle to comprehend how anyone would consider that an exceptable room for anyone.
Following a conversation with the girl on reception, she assured me that the manager would be in touch with me the following day to discuss my complaint as she'd already gone home (this was I'm the afternoon). Although this never happened; no one ever attempted to contact me, this therefore highlights a clear lack empathy on their part for ruining our trip to St Andrews.

Receptionist very helpful, no parking onsite but there is free parking out the front of there are spaces, being in St.andrews it's pot luck if there is a space or not. the room I was in was at the back of the hotel and because of the weather right now the room was very stuffy, window only opens inches and no air circulation, I was top lazy to ask for a fan so suffered in silence , no food for the evening at the hotel but loads to choose from just minutes away by foot so wasn't an issue, breakfast was good at the hotel.
