These guys saved our bacon big time. We had booked the greyfriars Inn which booking.com failed to tell us that this Inn wasn't opening for another 2 weeks. Even had the cheek the email and ask how our stay was. So the staff there got in touch with scores and they agreed to let us stay at the same price we were gonna pay. Staff - can't really fault them.
They were all kind and welcoming. Some more than others. Food - only had the omelette which was nice but not your usual omelette with the being folded and the top was a little bit mushy. Mrs had the pancakes - which was 1 really thin pancake, half a banana and big spoonful of 'nutella'. Location - great location looking out to the west sands beach.
So it's a couple mins walk and short walk from from the main shops. Building and room - great big old fashioned building. Didn't realize it wasn't a 4 star but it's a 3. Fancy looking. Room was spacious but had a slanted roof right at the bed, which me and the Mrs bumped into a few times and a pillar in the middle of the room which you had to be wary off during the night.
Big toilet with a large shower. Clean. mattress was due a change tho, had a dip init which I kept sinking in to and disturbing my sleep. Not very dissabled friendly - I never saw a chairlift but doesn't mean there wasn't 1 - you have to walk up about 20 steps at the entrance or squeeze through a narrow door, walk down 3 steps to get to lift. Lift was very small tho with 2 of us filling it up, and it also had a small glitch when it took us to bottom floor and the doors never opened. Lights flickered and went back upto top floor, didn't open doors and went back down to ground, again doors never opened then back to basement where it finally let us out.
Later on that night we went back to lift and anither guest came out looking confused as hell telling us he's been stuck in lift for 5 mins. Follows covid guidelines - loads or sanitizer available. Gloves and masks also available. Staff all wore masks. Anyways. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Beautiful hotel with exceptional service and staff. You couldn't pick a better location in the whole of St Andrews. Right next to the West Sands beach, next to the golf course, next to the shops, bars and restaurants and yet in a very quiet and secluded location with stunning views of both, the beach and the golf course. Ample car park also. Amazing place Thank you kindly for your hospitality and God bless. I hope to be back soon Edvinas

Hotel has just been taken over and gas been stripped of pictures and memorabilia by previous owners. No facility to pay by card. We had booked for 10 two weeks prior to visit, but previos owners had not passed on the booking. Fair play to the staff who quickly set up a table and produced a kids menu at short notice. Food fairly standard. Burgers and fish and chips best rated by our party.

The staff at The Scores were exceptional in all aspects. They were professional, friendly and helpful. In addition to the location, the Old Course within 200 yards, the comfort of the rooms and the well prepared meals in the restaurant and a great pub on the first floor, the staff went above and beyond to make the whole experience memorable. We will be back

Stayed here for 2 nights for a work conference. Great location and lovely views over the bay. However. my room was small and cramped (and I'm only 5' 1), no hairdryer, TV was broken, curtains didn't shut properly, hot water tap spluttered after the toilet was flushed, and I was without any water from my shower for 10 mins one of the mornings. Thankfully I wasn't in a rush. The bed was comfy though. The breakfast service is mediocre at best. To the credit of the staff on reception, the were very polite and apologetic.

Staff were very friendly and had no issues. The room and general hotel were very dated and long overdue a refresh. Room was clean enough but lacking heating controls/air conditioning, not many plug sockets either. Very poor water pressure in shower. Didn't have food/breakfast so can't comment on that.

The Scores Hotel is in a beautiful position in St Andrews and our room had a lovely sea view. The room was beautifully decorated, and the bed comfortable, although I think the mattress was a little saggy in the middle. We have enjoyed breakfast on a previous occasion and the choice is very varied, but we didn't need breakfast on this occasion. I can recommend this hotel and would stay again. The complimentary shortbread is fabulous!

Thoroughly enjoyable stay. Highlight had to be the breakfast. Not only was there a stunning view of the R&A clubhouse and Old Course, the food was fantastic too. The full vegetarian breakfast had veggie haggis slices, 2 veggie sausages, 2 fried eggs, hash brown, tattie scone, beans and fried tomato. Also nice brown toast and a cup of tea. The best breakfast I've had in years. Friendly helpful staff too.
