Had lunch for four of us and while the decor, and food quality was impressive the service was terrible! Waited an age to be asked about drinks which bearing in mind were 1 beer and 3 soft drinks took about 15 minutes to arrive and the bar restaurant was not even busy. Asked for more drinks and waited an age finally going to the bar only to be told it would be brought over another 10 minutes later it arrived. So service awful and very very slow.

We stayed for 2 nights, the first night and breakfast then next morning they had plenty of attentive staff. The last morning was awful, the wait to be seated was too long. Once seated we waited for ages to order, all buffet cereals, breads, crossiants and juices were empty and you had to ask a very rushed, harassed waitress to get something you wanted.
After nearly an hour we got our cooked breakfast and it's quality was poor, hard eggs with shell left in, fatty bacon, only one sausage ( previous day we had 2), no toast as bread basket was empty! When checking out, we told the lady and was disappointed with the reaction, giving the excuse that lots of people had gone down for breakfast at the same time, but when we arrived we had to book a slot for breakfast, so how that happened is a mystery, plus the restaurant wasn't even half full!
This is not a cheap hotel to stay in and it was a big disappointment for us. Also I know this is not the hotels fault but the first night I had no sleep, because someone in a very loud sports car, was parked outside the hotel revving his engine and playing loud music for hours, roaring up and down the road! So if you do stay here I would ask for a room at the back of the hotel.

We visited this hotel for a family anniversary party. What a lovely hotel it is with very friendly and attentive staff. We stayed in a family room. The room was very clean with comfortable beds and well presented which included a lovely selection of goodies. The afternoon tea was very yummy and the breakfast was excellent. The outside area was perfect to relax and enjoy the party in the sunshine. Thank you for a lovely stay. We would definitely recommend you!

Staff were excellent. When we asked to be moved from the hot, noisy front facing room we were given initially we were immediately offered one overlooking an internal courtyard. It was a real relief. But later on and in the early morning there was a lot of internal noise from the room above which was exacerbated by the plumbing which was horrendous.
But it was clean and comfortable and afforded us a reasonable night's sleep. We also had to ask to move tables in the evening, this time due to noisy guests, and again were accommodated straight away. The evening meal was surprisingly good as was the breakfast. All in all a good experience. We would recommend and would happily stay again

We had a lovely family weekend, ages from 12 to 77, the room were all lovely and really clean. The staff were all super friendly and helpful, a special mention to Mell who served all our meals last night, the meal was absolutely delicious and she was just delightful, and to the lovely two ladies who served our breakfast this morning. A truly lovely weekend Thank you the Riches Family.

The hotel is fantastic. Nicely decorated and the rooms are well equipped. The tea and coffee facilities would have Bill Bailey writing songs about it. Even with a live band on, My room was quiet. I had a great night's sleep. The most important part of this sort of place is, of course, the staff. I cannot sing their praises highly enough. Professional, helpful and most of all friendly. Next time I am at Cadwell I will definitely stay there again.

Lovely roomy area for dining and coffee. We stayed 5 years ago when we moved to the area and were very impressed then with the service and the room. Only eaten here twice the first time my steak was too tough for me but the second time at Christmas last year I had lovely chicken and was pleased with the evening. I have coffee regularly with friends and I enjoy the coffee and the three Maltesers which come with each drink

Great value winter bnb rate. Room fine, maybe mattress in room 207 could be a bit better, TV a bit small and although room 207 faces the road noise from traffic is not too bad, however it is noisy until 11.30pm and again by 7am. So light sleepers should ask for a car park facing room. Tea, coffee, biscuits and nesspreso machine. Bathroom in207 is also a bit tight but great shower.
Breakfast is super, order taken and served to your table no dried out buffet here. Full English good and eggs benedict even better. Had an evening meal here too, pork 3 ways and pie, again good old fashioned British food served by attentive and pleasant wait staff. Good value, good standard hotel. Only gripe is that dogs around in the dinning area and at breakfast, clearly dogs are allowed to stay however I never ever want to stay in a room that has had dogs in it, no matter how much air freshener they used non dog owners can smell them it's like smoking rooms used to be for non smokers. I would have liked a designated dog free area in the restaurant.
