The Kirkmichael Hotel is a charming Victorian era coaching inn set in the village of Kirkmichael, nestled in the Strathardle Glen in Highland Perthshire, only a 15 minute drive from Pitlochry on the A9. Our location, on the edge of the Cairngorms National Park, serves as a home base for the outdoors adventurer, the historic explorer and the devotee of peace, beauty and tranquillity alike.

We are based in the heart of rural Scotland and yet can be easily reached by road, rail or air. Five spacious, well-appointed rooms, all with en-suite facilities, offer a warm welcome after a day on the rivers, mountains or moors.
Services
The pub is very much a traditional country pub and is right in the centre of the village - a great place to relax and take in the local hospitality, whether you are just having a drink or a bite to eat. As part of the Perthshire Open Studios initiative, we curate, in the Hotel, a selection of works by local artists.
In addition to the works curated within the Hotel, we have the Cairngorm Gifts studio within the village and an excellent woodturning workshop and gallery and photographic gallery in nearby Ballinluig. There are many other galleries in the wider area. Bookmark, the Blairgowrie Book Festival, is an established and popular event held each year in early October.
Glenshee Ski Centre, 15 miles from Kirkmichael, is the largest ski area in Scotland with 36 runs and 20 ski lifts. As part of the Perthshire Open Studios initiative, we curate, in the Hotel, a selection of works by local artists.
We are a Cateran Trail Hotel. We offer FREE drop off and pick up to and from any of the Cateran trail-heads for walkers who stay a minimum of two nights with us. No agents fees for exactly the same service! Our accommodation facilities enable us to cater for groups of walkers who wish to keep costs down by sharing rooms.

She just changed owner and the lady running it now is very friendly. The hotel needs some work but she seems up for the challenge! Helping out a starting business while enjoying a stay, what can be more pleasurable.

From Angie's friendly welcome, to when I left, all of the staff were very welcoming, friendly & helpful. I enjoyed a wonderful soak in my bath, and slept so well. All of their meals were scrummylicious. I cannot fault them at all.

We stopped in for a spot of lunch. The leek and potato soup was great and the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming.

After been in a ibis budget the night before for half price this feels outdated and when we woke up at 8am sunday there where no lights or breakfast ready for our early departure. Overall its ok nothing special has a small shop across the road.

Was a nice stay during covid. The receptionist called me because I was late asking if i need assistance in getting to the place. I mean 5 star hotels don't do that. This simply to emphasize how caring they were. Oh and they also asked what time we want our breakfast. Meaning it's freshly cooked, for that price? What a steal. Highly recommend

Didn't stay in the hotel but called in for a drink at the bar during a walk around the area. Friendly staff and good selection of drinks all reasonably priced. Parking at the side too.
