Although hidden at the end of a quiet and secluded glen, Dalmunzie has been witness to many events over thousands of years. The visitor today can easily be unaware that Dalmunzie was once home to hundreds of people speaking a language that has only recently disappeared. The standing stone and burial cairn near the Glenshee parish church date from the Bronze age when people were first settling the area, and the fermtoun of Cuthil (gaelic for clearing in the forest) is of ancient origin and indicates a time when the glen was still heavily wooded.
We are especially proud of the attentive yet relaxed service provided at Dalmunzie where guests are made to feel at home in their own Highland retreat. We look forward to welcoming you to Dalmunzie, a special place that projects many of the emotions Scotland has to offer. The lounge area offers a relaxed place where guests can often meet and socialise with other guests.
At Dalmunzie we feel particularly proud of the Food & Beverage we provide. Whether it's a hearty breakfast in preparation for a big day, a relaxing lunch between golf rounds, or dressing up for a special dinner, we are confident our chefs can provide guests with a dining experience to remember. Our chefs have a desire to make the best use of the freshest Scottish ingredients available locally and seasonally, while giving an exceptional dining experience to represent Scotland and its cuisine in the best way possible.
Located on a spectacular 6500-acre estate we take our leisure seriously at Dalmunzie and can offer a wide array of activities to keep the most active guest satisfied. This includes information on golf, walking, days out, castles to visit, skiing and much more! Dalmunzie golf course is amongst Britain's highest and is enveloped by stunning mountain scenery.

Absolutely stunning views, lovely room, beautiful location. Supper left much to be desired: the pheasant was quite dry and overcooked.

We read the Google reviews before booking this hotel for a night and we got a bit scared because they were not that good but they were from 3-4 years ago. Apparently it has changed because we had a really nice experience at the castle hotel, personnel was nice and caring, the diner and breakfast (included in the celebration package we took) were really good, refined and a bit on the rich side. If I had to find a negative point I would say that a Spa would be a great addition to the experience.

An unpretentious, comfortable country hotel set in beautiful grounds where you are well looked after. We could have meals by roaring fires on comfortable sofas or in the dining room, we chose the former. The staff were out of this world exceptional and the food delicious.

Stayed here for one night to celebrate my partner's birthday. I'd booked the special package 4 poster bed room (Winton room). It was everything I'd hoped for with the roaring fire in the reception area, comfy sofas in the lounge areas and a little bar. We received a friendly welcome and the team had even put a birthday card in the room for my partner, alongside the chocs and Prosecco (special package).

The dinner was delicious and the service was calm and well timed. We both felt so relaxed the whole time. Someone else described the place as like staying at a (wealthy) friend's residence rather than a hotel. This feeling for me was what made it so relaxing. The staff didn't fuss but were there if you needed anything and left you to enjoy the spaces. Staying here felt like a warm hug, if that makes any sense.

Arrived to a roaring fire. Friend had booked the apartment, which was lovely, although looks like they've still got finishing touches to make. The staff were friendly. The meals were lovely. We had a great time celebrating.

Just went here last night for dinner which was 5 star. Excellent friendly service, beautifully cooked and well presented meal which tasted fantastic. And all in lovely castle surroundings. Will certainly be going back.

Fabulous location. Welcoming and helpful staff. Cosy atmosphere with wonderful food. A little tired in places, nothing a little investment can't overcome. A definite recommend for those wanting something different.

Stunning settings. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Traditional interiors. Double room is spacious, though the wardrobe and draws could be upgraded in the traditional style to include more space. Overall would go back, especially as its only ten minutes from Glenshee ski centre.

We've just spent New Year's Eve here and it was brilliant! I normally don't like New Year's Eve so decided to travel up to Scotland to stay in Dalmunzie Castle. They had a package for new year's eve that also included the 2nd January (incidentally my birthday). The hotel is charming and the staff were excellent. It is small enough to be able to meet the other guests and spend time chatting by the log/coal fires dotted around.

The food was superb. Each meal well presented with excellent service. The staff are a credit to the hotel. For the more active, there's no shortage of things to do. My wife and I walked up the mountain visible from our breakfast table. It was a challenge (12kms and 400m ascent) but not one an averagely fit person couldn't manage. If you have driven here and brought a mountain bike, you'll be spoilt for places to go.

The hotel laid on a number of events (COVID friendly), including a falconry display which was brilliantly interactive. If you want to get away from it all and have a cracking break, Dalmunzie is the place to go. I need to give special recognition to all of the staff. You are superb and definitely made our stay so enjoyable.

Brilliant for a family 9 holes. The boys aged 9 and 12 loved it. Mummy was caddy for the youngest. Managed a break in the weather late afternoon. Fantastic views, challenging course. Friendly reception staff good value for money.

Dalmunzie is puching a bit above their weight. The hotel booking experience was quite easy and nice. GM was very helpful and accomodating. The hotel itself and the location was unique. The lobby, seating area, the rooms etc make you feel you are staying at a (wealthy) friend's residence, rather than a hotel, for us it was a great feeling. Despite the menu is a bit limited, the service, the taste and the presentstion of the dishes were very nice.

Good whisky selection to enjoy after meals by the fireplace. You can take long walks in the surrounding area. I loved the hotel but it definetely would benefit from a renovation without ruining the soul and the atmosphere, otherwise I fear that the hotel could not be enjoyed as much in the coming years.

Location, hotel accommodation and staff were amazing! Some nice (short and long) walks you can do from the hotel too! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was food - it was OK but wasn't something I would come back for.

I travelled to Scotland with my father 2 years ago early spring, we rent a car and went north to Explorer the highlands. We stayed at different hotels every night, this place was absolutely amazing. Beautiful walking trails and easy enough for my father to walk with me, stunning view any direction you looked. I loved seeing my father so satisfied, happy and calm.

The staff was so sweet and really took care of us, The food was delicious. We only stayed one night because it was our last day before travelling back home so we had to go up really early before breakfast. But The Lady was awake, gave us breakfast and drinks in each bag to bring with us in the car, The sandwich was absolutely perfect and delicious.

We didnt expect her to do this for us. So grateful she made time for us, really sweet. Thank you for such an amazing day and night. We would recommend this place to anyone and would love to Come back again if the future allows it
