Our first HF holiday and hopefully not our last. Some rooms have been refurbished, but ours was a bit tired and dated, with chipped bath enamel. But everything was clean and functional and the bath was a blessing - some rooms only have a shower. Staff were excellent - both within the property and also the guides for our walks. Food was plentiful and very good quality. Varied menu and tasty.
Worth going just for the food.;- There was the option of playing skittles in the evening for those with the energy. I went straight to bed after dinner, in desperate need of some quality recovery time. Having arrived from a few days in the Lake District I wasn't as impressed by the terrain and the views. Nonetheless, the guides made the walks enjoyable and a comfortable bed was most welcome after the battering our bodies took during the day. Recommended!

What an amazing place. Staff so willing and helpful, nothing's to much trouble. Food, well it is so top quality, beautifully presented, plenty of it. This place is a true find. Hotel spotlessly clean, maybe a bit dated but there's nothing more you'd need. Plenty of hot water after fabulous day walking. Rooms spacious and everything you need. Grounds well kept and pleasant- plenty of parking.

I have been on guided walking holidays many times over the years. I'm never disappointed. Great accommodation, newly refurbished room at peveril on the peak has been beautifully done. I recommend room 8 if you are considering staying. Food is of a high standard, staff couldn't be more helpful. Walks are informative and sociable. Can't wait for my next HF holiday.
