Attended wedding reception here and was impressed with the venue, food was very good with decent Portions. The only detraction was getting a taxi to take us back at the end of the day. We eventually had to get a lift from another guest after being let down by the availability of a taxi.

Fantastic venue with magnificent views over the countryside. Our niece got married here and the whole day was fabulous. Staff are very friendly and so efficient that the whole day went without a hitch.

Attended a wedding and reception. Beautiful setting, well organised. Excellent food both at dinner and evening buffet. Well trained staff ensuring everything went smoothly, discreetly served and cleared away.

My husband and I feel privileged to have celebrated our marriage at Shottle Hall! The whole team at Shottle Hall were so friendly and spent time making sure we felt comfortable and had the best wedding day. Nothing was too much trouble and it really shines through that the team have a genuine passion for making a couple's wedding the best day. We were in excellent hands with our brilliant Wedding Coordinator Amy; she was very professional, warm, and cared about making sure every detail was right for us. Shottle Hall is such a beautiful venue, from the lovely architecture to the amazing parkland and rolling countryside.

The food was delicious. We had so many compliments from guests about the quality of the wedding breakfast and evening food. I couldn't imagine ever having chosen another venue. Shottle Hall really is a unique and special place with a wonderful team. We would highly recommend Shottle Hall.

Lovely wedding venue. Staff friendly and helpful the only negative is we seemed to be rushed at breakfast the next morning. I understand that they have to prepare for the next event but, please give people more time to chat and eat. Perhaps start breakfast at 8:30 instead of 9 that gives people a chance to eat and chat and still be out of the bedroom by 10:30

We held our wedding here on 28th October 21 and we had an amazing time. Our coordinator was Amy and nothing was too much trouble from start to finish. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Everyone commented on how lovely the food was and what a beautiful venue. It is a gorgeous hall with magnificent countryside views. Thank you to Sarah and all who work at Shottle in making our day so memorable.

Part of a bridal party, we were waited on hand and foot, nothing was too much trouble. The staff were excellent, professional. The food was exceptional, starters main and puds, evening buffet and breakfast the next morning. The venue just beautiful. set in picturesque country side, beautiful gardens We stayed overnight, the room was delightful. Missing a TV, but not really needed. Highly recommended.

We could not have asked for a better place to get married. It was amazing from start to finish! Venue so homely and beautiful just what we wanted. Rooms are amazing and so comfy. Staff are so attentive and incredible! Mr&Mrs Cheetham!

Lovely venue with absolutely stunning views, rain or shine you will have beautiful wedding photos here. Staff are really helpful and polite and the food tastes great which is a bonus. I have photographed so many weddings here over the years and absolutely love it.

We got married at Shottle Hall finally on the 11th of August 2021 and it was the day we'd always dreamed of. The venue itself is incredibly beautiful and then you have the unbelievable staff who have bent over backwards for us, to make sure our wedding day was everything we wanted. Due to covid we unfortunately had to postpone 4 times but Shottle Hall were amazing and so so understanding, we can't thank them enough for their time, patience and expertise.

We went to a friend's wedding at Shottle Hall recently. The food was very good, staff were friendly and helpful. Overall a great wedding venue. Outside had great views of the Derbyshire countryside. Inside was well decorated. Drinks weren't over expensive either.

I've been to Shottle Hall many times and have always had a great experience from the staff, the food and the appearance. Today I went for another wedding. Even though it had reduced numbers it was still a lot of fun. The day was made easier by Helen who works there. She was very helpful, well mannered and accommodating. As a wedding photographer it's always amazing when I get offered the same courtesies at the bride and groom in terms of people wanting to help, the offer of drinks (normally) and anything else to help the day be as good as it can. Never fails to deliver! I look forwards to my next visit.

I have been meaning to post this for some months and at last have got round to it. We had our Civil Ceremony here back in May, and it was stunning! The location, the food, the house, the bedrooms and most of all the staff are all superb. The team at Shottle made our day flawless, and ensured everything ran within seconds of it's timing. We had a perfect day and everyone at Shottle Hall made it worth every penny and gave us lots of happy memories that will last a lifetime. If your going to do it. do it in style do it at Shottle Hall.

Shottle Hall is a beautiful Country House within the dreamy landscape of derbyshire, The grounds are very well kept, The staff are warm and friendly and the service was excellent, If you want to be in the middle of nowhere in beautiful settings this stunning hotel is highly recommended for money well spent and a thoroughly enjoyable and romantic get away. What a lovely hotel. The bedroom was fantastic, four-poster, old style bath etc. The building and decor are beautiful and the dining room has to be seen to be believed. We had a great couple of days and the nearby countryside is lovely. I'd certainly love to stay there again and can confidentally recommend it to everyone.

My boyfriend treated me to a surprise weekend at Shottle Hall - and it was the most amazing weekend ever. The hall is gorgeous and from the moment I stepped into, felt like a princess. Advertised as a boutique hotel, it really fits the bill and the decoration is a very tasteful mix of classic, antique and modern. The art work is very interesting indeed.

We stayed in the Roccoco room, which was like a room designed for Marie Antoinette, four poster bed, stunning antique furniture, amazing views of the countryside and a HUGE modern bathroom. We also had a delicious meal in the restaurant, it seemed like a real effort had been made to include local produce - and it really made the difference. The only bad part of the weekend was having to leave - we will certainly be returning in the near future and have enquired about a wedding booking too!

The food, bedrooms and setting were not worth the price tag and for the expense of dinner - we would've got a better service elsewhere. There really needs to be some staff training. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to a friend.

This is a brilliant hotel it has lots of great stuff inside e.g swimming pool spar and the beds and hotel rooms are just purfect and the staff help loads thy ask if you need anything at all and this place is in the countrieside

Shottle Hall is a small boutique hotel just a few miles north of Derby, set in the beautiful derbyshire countryside. Only eight bedrooms at present, but there is view to creating further I am told. Although it's quite expensive to stay here, it has amazing interior design, fabulous food and excellent service. There's even a heli-pad! Shottle Hall also has license to hold civil wedding ceremonies and what a location! Has to be the best hotel in Derby.

What more can you say about the place where you get married? You choose the location because it is, in your eyes, a beautiful, comfortable place where you want to spend the most significant day of your life. On that, I'm thrilled to say that Shottle Hall, it's staff and the quality of the venue on the day lived up to our expectations! Situated in a very accessible rural location, on the south-eastern fringe of the Peak District National Park in Derbyshire, the hall is family run and you feel it. Attentive, without ever being over the top, with each of the 8 rooms individual in style and feel.

A case of take your pick! The venue doubles as a hotel day by day and I'd recommend it to anyone who is passing through The Peak District or spending time in or around Chatsworth House.
