Callow Hall

What a stunning property. Stayed one night in one of the amazing Hives in the woods above the hotel. Hotel has been recently refurbished and remodelled with wonderful modern glass walled restaurant, luxury Hives and Treehouses as well as bedrooms in the main house. Dined in the restaurant in the evening - terrine followed by pork loin - huge portion and beautifully cooked. Breakfast had poached eggs and crushed avocados - with a view. The countryside around the hotel is beautiful and very peaceful - well worth the visit.

Great upscale hotel in fabulous grounds. Lovely sun terrace with loungers and deck chairs. Flower meadow in front of hotel. Very modern glass sided restaurant with turf roof. Room was small but well equipped 3 lounges to relax in Service in restaurant was poor, young staff were new and needed training. Interesting lodges in grounds like tree houses, must be fun to stay in. Lots of investment here and it shows.

Afternoon tea was wonderful and staff were friendly, attentive and funny. Not stuffy as is the case in many high end hotels. Decor was beautiful. Can't wait to go back and hopefully next time stay

This is a gem of a place, five drowned rat walkers and three well behaved dogs were given the warmest of welcomes. Rest bite and lunch turned into a four stay by the cosiest of fires in a stunning drawing room, served by the best staff. Quite simply, nothing was too much trouble and we all left with definite intention to return. Excellent! Thank you

Disappointed thinking of cancelling my booking. We are going for our friends wedding in September we booked the hives as we have a small dog and a baby for two nights. Just got a call saying they changed their policy for wedding guests to bring their dogs!? But apparently normal guests can still bring their dogs They agreed a month ago and then decided to change their policy only for wedding guests? They should not claim that they are dog friendly or have a four star rating.

An amazing large comfy bed, and the attention to detail in the entire hotel was remarkable. The location to visit Chatsworth House is perfect, lovely walks and stunning views across the farmlands from the dining room. Also the staff are without doubt there to make your stay all the more special and the food was jolly good too! Thank you for a lovely time

We booked the Spencer room for an intimate baby shower and it couldn't have been more perfect, they even lit the log burner to create a lovely cosy atmosphere, we didn't want to leave. It was a stunning room and the food was amazing. The service was impeccable, nothing was too much trouble. It was 5*. Matthew and his team looked after us all day. He gave us a guided tour of the hotel and a buggy tour to the hive lodges.

He even took our pregnant friend on the buggy to the treatment room for her manicure. I will definitely be visiting again and would highly recommend this stunning venue to anyone, you will not be disappointed. Thank you for making our friends baby shower a day she'll treasure forever.

I would like to offer a more extensive review but alas, they don't answer the phones & don't reply to emails. I wish to make a booking but have a question that isn't answered on their website. Quite extraordinary & doesn't bode well for the service one may expect, if ever I can make the booking?

Enjoyed an excellent meal here. Delightful staff, delicious food with good sized portions, wonderful decor and comfortable seating. All in all an excellent experience. Perfect for a special treat. We'll done to all the team.

We went for a meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food was amazing. They have a seasonal menu that changes each month and use local produce that is in season. Also by keeping a simple menu, they concentrate on producing stunning dishes. The attention to detail on the presentation and the flavours were wonderful. Think Masterchef and you can't go wrong! The staff are so helpful, friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The garden room has a lovely atmosphere and I can imagine during the day the views would be lovely too.

Recently refurbished hotel, stunning building and location, really nice bar and restaurant area with floor to ceiling glazed walls offering lovely views across the countryside. We had afternoon tea which was very good quality and generous amount of food and drink included. Looking forward to visiting for an evening meal in the future.

Everything about this hotel is beautiful. The hotel and its staff are wonderful and offer a true customer service experience. We stayed in a room in the main house called 'fabulous room' and it certainly lived up to its name. The room was beautiful, well appointed with everything you could wish for and had stunning views across the countryside. We ate in the restaurant for dinner, breakfast and afternoon tea which did not disappoint.

Yes you could stay in a pub for half the price but this is a truly special establishment to relax and unwind whilst being catered for with care. Will definitely be returning!

Stayed at the hotel with my wife and three children while visiting the surrounding area. Booked the hotel on very short notice and I was highly impressed from the very first minute. This is a simply beautiful hotel. The hotel staff were able to make up a room to accommodate our family. The room that we stayed in was fantastic. Large, tastefully decorated, excellent amenities and fabulous bathroom with sunken bath for two.

Restaurant didn't have a kids menu but the chef specially prepared a meal for the children. Food was really tasty. Pre-lit fire pits outside were a lovely addition. The best thing about this hotel is the people that work there. Amazingly friendly and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble and everyone was genuinely happy to talk to us. They made us feel incredibly welcome. Will definitely return to this hotel and tell all of our friends about it.

Stunning hotel.decor is beautiful. Bedroom 4 was spacious, had a bath. The bed was so comfy! Food is amazing, and the glass structure restaurant is wow! Service spotless. Can't wait to return. Very good value for money.

Callow Hall hotel rooms (cosy) were really tiny! The hives were nice but a short walk from the main house and small - only fitting a couple. Staff are beyond friendly and helpful - makes it a homely feel. Restaurant was nice - food delicious.
