As a family we have been trading in the centre of Glasgow for over twenty years and all that time we have been growing. In fact, an expansion of the hotel is planned in the near future. The Artto Hotel has invested heavily in the city, which we believe to be one of the most dynamic and exciting in the UK. From small beginnings, as the Artto Hotel has upgraded, grown and developed, we're proud to say that many of our customers have stuck with us. We think this is because we've always been a business that is interested in pleasing people.

Hotel is clean, perfectly situated right across the road from the Train Station. Staff are polite and accommodating. Asked for an early checkin and was granted it at no extra fee. However was put in the room RIGHT NEXT to the housekeeping store so had banging and talking for the most part of my stay. I don't recommend sleeping in room 202!

Stayed here the night before heading to the highlands to hike the West Highland Way. I needed a comfortable place close to the train station to rest up before my long hike and that's exactly what I got! Sure, the place isn't the newest or the quietest, the carpet in my room was bald in some spots, the shower wasn't sparkling white (it was clean though!), and you can hear the Glasgow nightlife through the walls, BUT staff was lovely, price was good, and I would give it 5 stars for a 3-star accommodation. Solid place to stay for a night or two, but not a luxury escape, if that's what you are looking for.

I had great hopes for this budget accommodation after it popped up in my Booking.com feed. It was close to Glasgow Central and that was my prime motivation for booking. The pix looked ok. Was a bit surprised to find myself checking in at a bar that was in full swing. Allocated room was right behind the lift shaft so that was absolutely not on. A room changed was requested and I found myself in a tiny attic room with a dirty, threadbare carpet and a window that would not stay open. Toilet/shower was ok but very cramped.
There was no air-con. Returning at night, there was constant footfall along the corridor, which itself shouldn't be an issue but the floors creaked when one walked on them. The walls were paper thin, so much such you could hear what occupants were discussing. Went down at 10:45 to catch brekky, only to be told it finished at 10:00. On a weekend? This was not stated in my reservation from Booking.com.
I requested a partial refund and this was accepted. Then went back to my room to gather my gear and decided to make a cuppa from the tea/coffee facilities in the room. Alas, no spoons! Upon checking out, another member of staff rescinded the offer of partial refund. It took the intervention of Booking.com and hotel management to resolve this. The figure was paltry, of course, but that's not the issue.
The principle is! I suspect the early breakfast finish is to allow the kitchen to prepare for when the Reception area becomes a Bar again at 12:30, or whenever. Be wary of this. It's a tired, musty old block that has had a makeover in the Bar/Reception area. For the same money - 69 - go down the road to Motel One.

It's almost ok. I had a rough time with the smell in my room and bathroom; it smelled like an airplane lavatory. The toilet wasn't very clean and the tiles in the bathroom were not in place and so it didn't feel so safe to walk around. I understand that it is old, however the maintenance and the cleaning could have been better. There are dark stains underneath my duvet cover so it made me feel uneasy. There's an Indian buffet next door that looks pretty good though and they said you get a discount if you're staying here.

Had stayed here on the 17th of February also again on the 2nd of March. From coming in on the 17th, we were very welcomed by a lovely Hungarian woman called Laura, very bubbly and polite. Even us a group of lads who had a wee tipple, she was brilliant! Also the 2nd visit was just as good if not better. Bobby also aswell! Thanks again, shall be back soon x

A conveniently placed hotel opposite Glasgow Central Station. Within 5 minutes walking distance of the major shopping streets. My room was spacious, clean and comfortable. It had a kettle and TV and a powerful shower. The staff were friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay here next time I am in Glasgow #purplenanatravels

Nice budget hotel. The reception and when you enter the hotel is very modern and clean. Receptionist was lovely and very clear/helpful. However once you get in the lift, it changes. The lift is very creaky which does unsettle you a little. Out of the lift and back to the nice modern corridors. We found our room easily. The room itself was very clean and tidy.
Only things wrong were the TV, we got about 3 channels. It's ok if you're on a night on the town, however we like to relax at night. Also the bathroom wasn't the best. Paint peeling away on the bath and the tiles were chipped. Inside the bath looked like someone had burnt part of it. Overall, not bad and if I was looking for somewhere to stay a night then I'd come back but not if I wanted a little city break.

Stay was good. Close to a lot of resto and pubs. A nice location if you're into night out. Staffs were approachable and helpful. Decent size of room. There were just times that you will feel the floor is shaking cos of the train. Train station is just opposite the hotel building. No parking on site but there's an NCP car park close by where the hotel has a discounted price. Overall, good location and comfortable stay.
