Lovely place to arrive at after 12-12.5 mile hike. Staff from the minute you stepped in the door were helpful, gave clear information and easily dealt with a large group of 10-12people desperate to get boots off and relax. The evening meal was tasty with a good choice as was the good breakfast. The staff were very accomodating with our large group and others in the restaurant while still handling a large group, bus tour in the function suite. Only small negative our room was ridiculously warm, ideal possibly in winter, but not in May when it has been warm outside. Thanks

Disappointing to find none of the open fires lit during a 5 day stay on a cold wet week in mid March. The open fires are featured in the hotel video and photo gallery as a selling point. No explanation was offered as to why they weren't lit during our stay. On raising the issue with a member of staff the reason given was there had been a problem with the fires the previous week and they would be back in working order the following week which was neither here or there as far as our stay was concerned. Much is made of the cosy atmosphere in this nice old Inn but this wasn't evident given the unlit fires.

Spent a few nights here. Very helpful and friendly staff, the food was excellent. We could have done with a ground floor room but unfortunately we had to negotiate the stairs as there isn't a lift. Overall, we had a really enjoyable stay at the Winnock Hotel, ten out of ten, would definitely recommend (book early for a ground floor room)

WE had a fantastic overnight here. We were made very welcome by all the staff they couldn't do enough for you. Our bedroom was overlooking the front of the hotel onto the green. The bedroom was spotlessly clean and to finish it off we had a four poster bed. Food was excellent and plentiful drinks were also a very reasonable price.breakfast was excellent and put down to you lovely and hot. All in all a fantastic find and will definitely return very soon.

This was our second visit to the Winnock Hotel in Drymen in the past 6 weeks. Accomodation was fine, hotel clean and tidy, staff very friendly and courteous, food was excellent and all inclusive wine / drinks were OK. No complaints at all and going back, hopefully, in December 2022. Definitely would have no hessitation in recommending this to anyone. Only issue would be if you were in a wheelchair with possible difficulty in accessing bedrooms. 5 star for me!

Stayed here Fri - Mon and had a lovely time. The Hotel and rooms were spotlessly clean, cosy and warm. The staff were so friendly and helpful, both on reception and in the dining area. The food was absolutely delicious and we even got packed lunches on our day outs. Would definitely recommend and will visit again.

What a beautfuil hotel. We stayed over night in September. The food was excellent. Lovely staff but Joyce in particular deserves a special mention. The evening we stayed she single handedly ran the whole restaurant from the moment we ordered to when we left. An absolute credit to the hotel! She's a keeper and deserves a pay rise! Staff like her are hard to find. Well done Joyce. We will also be back for another whisky at The Cracken. Dom and Carla

Twin room extremely small and grubby looking, number 35. We expected a twin room to have space between the beds, not to just be two beds side by side. Breakfasts very disappointing, one morning the grapefruit ran out before we arrived and there was no more in the hotel. Choice of food very limited. We think this hotel has deteriorated significantly in the last two years and we will never return here again.

We didn't stay in the hotel so this review only covers the place's Ptarmigan bar. Only one ale on handpull and a rather soulless bar with modern decoration and some awful TV music channel on. Comfy enough but really not somewhere you would want to stay in for too long. We cast our eyes over the menu but opted for dinner elsewhere as it gave the impression of microwave rather than cooked to order.

We were visiting from Los Angeles and stayed here as part of the Insights Vacation travel group. Though I didn't expect a five-star hotel, I certainly didn't expect this place to be one-star. It's worse than a Motel 6 with peeling paint in the bathroom, no shampoo/soap/shower gel offered, and the water splattering everywhere when you take a shower due to a flimsy shower curtain.
The bathroom had a soap dispensary attached to the wall filled with blue liquid which I assume is hand soap. The draperies are stained and filthy. No hotel elevators so not ADA friendly, not to mention you have to lug your suitcases up and down steps. Do not stay here! And shame on Insights Vacations for claiming to offer "luxury" vacations and having your guests spend a night at a place you call "cozy".
