The beds were very nice and comfortable. However, we did find a used milk tub in one of the draws of the nightstand but that was not concerning for us. There are three bathrooms and two toilets as well. Considering there are about 12 rooms or so, I don't think it is enough for the busy season. The bathroom on the top floor looked horrible and very worn down, however, the bottom floor bathroom was very nice. We booked it through Airbnb and they do not respond at all. So if you have a question beforehand, good luck getting your answer back because you will need it.

I am convinced to recommend staying here and there are several reasons; 1. Price is extremely reasonable. 2. They serve quite economic breakfast; there are two options: Scottish and continental breakfast. 3. Room and shared toilets and bathrooms/shower rooms are clean and well-managed and the numbers of shared shower rooms are enough. 4. Accessibility to Glasgow city centre is convenient; I could use the subway for reaching the centre. 5.
The owner and staff are pretty accommodating and this is very Scottish. 5. You definitely will realise that you more love Scotland than England while staying here. Not crowded people are here, and the ambience was very tranquil unlike London and other England cities. I nowdays hate England, so I recommend to visit this hotel and hopefully relish Scotland traveling.

Stayed here once for 2 nights and booked a double ensuite room, however when we arrived we were told we were getting put into a family size room (which is a more expensive room however we wouldnt have to pay). I'm unsure why we were moved however there were only 2 of us and the family sized room contained a double bed, 2 single beds and a sofa bed so it felt huge!
Wouldn't have minded this had the room not been directly beside the front desk/door so we could hear people speaking and entering/exiting quite loudly. However, the price was decent (66 for 2 people for 2 nights) and it is close to a variety of shops and takeaways/restaurants etc. We also received a glass of apple juice and 2 travel mugs upon entry. The rooms were relatively clean and I would stay here again for a short trip!

The room was nice and spacious enough for the two of us but it had very thin walls, as we could hear other guests in rooms across the corridor as if they were next to us. The breakfast was good and the staff, although busy, were very attentive. The location is fantastic, probably the main reason we'd picked it in the first place.

I'm the type of person who doesn't care about luxury and I was just looking for a place to crash. The staff are some of the nicest and friendliest people you will meet. When I ended up taking a trip to the Isle of Skye, I was pleasantly surprised to be contacted by the hotel to make sure everything was ok when I didn't return after a few days. The hotel is located near shopping and in a nice part of Glasgow. I would definitely stay there again.

Poor value for money. We arrived to find a note on the door to the hotel instructing us to walk back down the street we'd just walked along to the Western Argyll Hotel in order to check in. Not a great start. We then had to walk back to the Kelvin to find our room. Room was clean but poorly furnished. Curtains didn't fit & let light in. Bubble wrap on door handle.
Breakfast was cold and very unappetizing. Man at reception didn't even lift his head from looking at his phone. We didn't expect much for 75 in the center of Glasgow but this place really is very poor value for money.

The only 2* thing about this place is the price. Firstly had a lovely welcoming despite the time I arrived. Arriving into the room there we a kettle with cups loads teabags, coffee and some biscuits to. The room was very clean (far cleaner than some hotels I've been to that have charged more for the stay). My sleep was perfect due to being cozy and in the extremely comfortable bed with next to no noise from outside despite the location. Id like to thank everyone who made this hotel possible and I will definitely be back
