The Riverside Hotel is situated on the banks of the River Kent in Kendal only a short walk from the famous market town centre. The hotel is conveniently situated for all the Lake District attractions and is only a ten- minute drive from Lake Windermere. The hotel has 47 en-suite bedrooms including several Four Poster Rooms. All the bedrooms include hospitality tray, sky television, direct dial telephone, hairdryer and ironing facilities.

For family groups or those with older children we have the option to book adjoining rooms to allow extra space whilst staying close. All the bedrooms are spacious with en-suite bathrooms, most have river views and include a hospitality tray with drinks and biscuits, a television with Freeview, free WiFi, direct dial telephone, hairdryer and ironing facilities.
Dining at the Riverside Hotel is a real pleasure. Our recently re launched menu offers a wide choice, using locally grown fresh produce whenever possible, some of it from our own Victorian kitchen garden in Grange-over-Sands. We can cater for any dietary requirements, please speak to a member of our management team for more details.
Guests of the hotel can enjoy use of the facilities during their stay and our team of expert instructors are always on-hand to help and advise. At the Sanctuary we have a fully equipped state of the art Fitness area with high performance cardio equipment including Treadmills, Bikes, Rowers, Stepper and Cross trainers.
The Tannery Bar at Riverside Hotel can be reserved for a private dining experience for up to 40 diners, which makes it an ideal venue for celebrations and occasions such as birthdays, christening parties and funeral teas. We are happy to discuss your ideas or suggest some of our own if you have a special date that requires some planning.

Made a group booking for four rooms and they very kindly got our rooms next to each other. The staff were super friendly and extremely dog friendly. The hotel was comfy and clean. Couldn't ask for nicer dog friendly base for our stay Kendal and will certainly stay again in the future. I left my earrings in a bedside table and they were handed to reception by the cleaning staff and they kindly offered to post them back. Thanks for a great few days!

Nice place. Great staff, really friendly and obliging. Bedroom a little tight for space with extra chairs etc, but better that than none! Ensuite small but well fitted out. Ambience in Bistro could be improved with a different choice of music (!). Pool superb, steam room is brilliant with menthol or eucalyptus infusing, spa is tops too. Overall experience? - great place to stay.
