Nestling below the famous Haytor Rocks and just inside the Dartmoor National Park is the rural hamlet of Haytor Vale and the Rock Inn. This traditional English Country Inn has been offering travellers hospitality, good food and shelter since its foundation as a coaching inn in the mid-eighteenth century. In this modern age we pride ourselves on a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, with personal service reminiscent of a bygone age.

Like everything else at The Rock Inn, our restaurant is built upon reputation. Our numerous eating areas throughout the building provide an intimate, yet friendly atmosphere for your lunch or dinner on Dartmoor. The restaurant is open to all, however we do get very busy so please book in advance to avoid disappointment.

A very warm welcome awaits you at this traditional Inn with its intimate bar area and attractive features, including brass work, oak furnishings, and welcoming log fires. We take our beverages very seriously and always choose what we stock according to quality. Our real ales are from the excellent local Dartmoor Brewery (based in Princetown based right next to the famous Dartmoor Prison) and include Dartmoor IPA and Jail Ale along with the occasional guest beer.We also offer an extensive range of wines by the glass, Ports, and Malt Whiskies.
