Services
Every bedroom is individual, all are comfortable and homely finished in what is best described as a country style. A rolling renovation progression means the introduction of extra little touches like tropical showers into some of the more deluxe rooms. All are ensuite with tea/coffee making facilities and complimentary homemade flapjack, 32-inch flat screen televisions and designer toiletries.
In order to facilitate distancing and to concentrate service in one area, breakfast and dinner will be served exclusively in the main Restaurant. Dinner, served 6pm to 9pm, will take the form of an a la carte menu with a range of both bar food and restaurant style dishes to suit most tastes. This will be served in the main Restaurant and adjoining Hound Tor Suite only.
With beautifully tiled floors, well appointed changing rooms and the latest facilities, the Spa at Ilsington offers an exclusive corner of peace and tranquillity with a hint of Tibetan Influence. Relax in the hydrotherapy pool and let the soothing bubbles envelop you and then take a seat in the sauna or steam room and surround yourself by the comforting aromas and sounds accompanied with mood lighting. Maybe time for a dip in the indoor pool and swim a few lengths before showering off and relaxing with a magazine pool side.
Situated within the Dartmoor National Park Ilsington is 4 miles from the A38, which is a continuation of the M5. Shortly after Exeter the road divides, take the right hand fork in the direction of Plymouth and after about twelve miles take the exit indicating Newton Abbot, Bovey Tracey and Moretonhampsted.

We visited the spa as a anniversary treat. Massage experience for my partner and I were completely different, my partners massage was not enjoyable at all. We had food as part of our package and the food was poor, they were trying to be high end and failed. We had a champagne package, but asked not to have the champagne as we were driving and they still charged us extra for a soft drink. We contacted the hotel and got fobbed off. I would not recommend and we will not be returning.

Great hotel. Some nice touches such as; cotton wool, disposable bags in bathroom, usb chargers in the bedside sockets. Food is outstanding. Spa facilities excellent, treatments exceptional. Grounds, gardens and views all fantastic. Only one negative thing to say about this brilliant hotel and that is the WiFi is a little slow. Other than that, I can't fault it.

My partner and I, and our dog stayed at this beautiful hotel for 2 nights, and may I say how lovely it was! The staff were very helpful and accommodating, the room was clean and well presented with a very comfortable bed, and the spa was just wonderful. To top it all, I had a massage with Adele, and oh my gosh, I have to say she is one of the best I have been to. so good that we booked my partner in the next morning before we left! Adele - Absolutely amazing lady! I can't recommend her enough! So yes, we had a lovely time, and wish we could have stayed longer!

We visited for the day Thursday 24th March. I had booked two luxury spa days for my mothers birthday. On arrival we were greeted with two lovely ladies on reception who informed us of our itinerary & gave us a tour of the spa. We were provided with towels & robes on arrival & the spa has a no show policy so before you enter you put your shoes in a cabinet & swap for some flip flops.
We then went straight to the ladies changing room which has multiple lockers & is beautiful. At reception you are provided with a code to enter the spa area. We had full use of the swimming pool, hydrotherapy pool, sauna & steam room. The spa is stunning. We then both had two 55 minute treatments which were full body massages. Adele & Katie were our therapists & we so welcoming & the treatments were lovely & my mother was providing with a little gift to say happy birthday which was such a nice added touch.
We then had a 2 course meal with champagne at the blue tiger inn. We were greeted by Alison who was also very welcoming & lovely. The food that we had was INCREDIBLE, we are normally very fussy when it comes to eating out but the food that we were provided was so yummy and we will certainly be coming back. Overall, it was an amazing experience & we highly recommend to everyone. Thank you so much.

Thank you all for organising our Diamond Wedding Anniversary party and making our stay so enjoyable. The hotel and its facilities are as good as ever. Everyone in our party of over 30 was very much impressed with the food throughout our stay, it was superb, so please convey our appreciation and compliments to the chef. We and our guests were very impressed by the welcome we received from the hotel staff. They were all attentive, helpful and polite especially Sheila, Cameron and David.

We stayed this weekend for a family party. The hotel and staff couldn't have been more helpful, both in the lead up to the event and during the event itself. They provided a separate room for eating which with three young children was fantastic and meant everyone could relax. The spa was great and enjoyed by all, rooms spacious and comfortable and very clean. Highly recommend.

Spent 2 nights on a long weekend. The service is very attentive. We brought our bicycles and the manager was willing to keep them. Thank you very much. The swimming pool area is beautiful, although I'm not sure why the windows of the pool are obstructed with a transparent sticker when the view behind would make the pool even more attractive. My wife and I had massages and we really enjoyed them.
The therapists are attentive and adjust the firmness of the massage to your liking. Breakfast is mastered. Delicious Devon tradtional breakfast. Nice warm croissant. Breakfast is not to be missed. Had dinner one evening at the restaurant. The food was good but sometimes too salty for our liking. The hotel room is nice. The beds were too soft for us, but we've yet to find a hotel bed we like in the UK. If there were half stars I'd put 4.5, but there aren't so it's a 5.

The twilight spa package is a great experience and excellent value for money. Such a lovely, well maintained and relaxing spa. The bar area and different lounges are a great place to relax with a drink and the restaurant was just incredible, the food was SO good. Can't forget to mention the service too, which was also second to none. I'd highly recommend.

The staff here truly make the place. Spending three or more days the menu becomes a little same same, they went above and beyond to create new plates for our stay. The breakfast is the full works although with beans not on the menu, they are still able to provide. The pool all be it is very shallow, around 1m at any point. Nice steam and sauna rooms and hydrotherapy pool. Rooms do feel slightly dated, yet all in very good condition, all be it for the odd cobweb super tidy. Can just about see hay Torr from the dinning room between the winter storms. Staff all staying very covid conscious.

Exceptional service and atmosphere once again from this lovely hotel. We stopped in for a few days and despite the constraints that Covid have imposed the staff were friendly, personable and chatty. The food was superb as always and the pool clean and quiet. We always enjoy our stays here and look forward to coming back again soon.

What an experience! Not enough superlatives to express our Spa weekend. From start to finish it was out of this world. Our intro was Sheila at Reception. Brilliant member of staff. Friendly, funny (especially her Benny Hill walk to the Spa!) and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Sheila. Kim(?) was my masseuse and again, brilliant! Knocked 10yrs off my physical wellbeing. The food is fantastic and the facilities are second to none! Very highly recommended! Well worth every penny! You won't regret your visit!

We had a lovely Spa and lunch experience! The beauty therapist was very good indeed and the food and bar and waiting staff helpful and efficient. Our lunches were first class. I think the ladies changing rooms are rather cramped there definitely wasn't really enough space or facilities for the amount of people in there today, but that's a small thing and we were there on a bank holiday so probably much busier than usual

Really lovely stay at the Islington, on a spa weekend package. Spa was definitely the highlight, lovely facilities and the massage and facial were excellent. The therapist was totally wonderful, I regret that I didn't catch her name. The food was good, found the seafood dishes were excellent. Cocktails and wine list were brilliant. Staff are all polite and helpful.
We sometimes waited a while for attention in the bar / restaurant, and it was clear the staff were a little stretched with Sunday lunch and so on. Would visit again, really good value and we visited great vineyards nearby, with Dartmoor National Park offering loads of wonderful sights and walks.

Professional, courteous and friendly staff. Spectacular views of Dartmoor. Tranquil lawns to relax or play a bit of badminton or Croquet. Lounge rooms lovely with added extras of board games. Spa beautiful and treatments excellent. Gorgeous food in the restaurant too. This hotel delivered much more than we expected and the staff really care so you feel really relaxed and welcome. Can't wait to book again.
