Lovely hotel, super dog friendly, brilliant beer garden and gorgeous food. We had such a lovely time. It was the first time we had stayed at a hotel with our dog and the staff couldn't have done more for us. So accommodating and made such a fuss over him. They really go over and above being dog friendly. We had lunch and a few drinks in the beer garden, loved the live music on it really created such a nice vibe. Then dinner at the bistro and drinks in the lounge at night. We will 1 million % be back.

Be careful with this booking. There is also another Atholl Arms close by in Blair Atholl. We booked this Atholl Arms by mistake and they refused to credit us a 40 deposit when we called to cancel the table. 40 goes a long way to feeding our 4 year old rather than feeding the mouths of stubborn restaurant managers. Shame on you.

A lovely location beside the river Tay although it is in the busiest part of the town. The reception area, lounge, restaurant and bistro were beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The staff were very efficient if a bit uninterested. The bedroom was very small with mis matched furniture and could definitely have done with being freshly decorated but it was clean enough.

Had a lovely stay here. 134 for one night. Room was very clean with new linen and duvet on a very comfortable bed. The rest of the hotel was really well presented especially in lounge areas and reception. There was hotel gardens at the river and a permanent tent used as an outdoor bar/seating area. Size of room was good, amazing view of Tay river and bridge into Dunkeld.
We were offered breakfast and dinner on arrival, we opted just to book for dinner. Drinks and cocktails were varied and made really well. Good choice of wine and beer, prices were as expected. Gluten free options for beer and wine was marked if vegan or not. Restaurant was well presented and menu was good. There was a separate menu for gluten free options and staff were knowledgeable about whole menu in that regard.
Food was very good, well cooked and moderately priced (4-11 starters/12-25 mains). Steak was of excellent quality and cooked as requested. Staff were all lovely, chatty and the right amount of attentive. Will come back at some point.

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The staff were lovely and couldn't be more helpful. The location was excellent for local walks with the dog. It's great that the hotel is dog friendly, the room had a lovely little welcome bundle for our dog. It would be good if they offered a dog menu in the bistro, we had anticipated this being the case but unfortunately it wasn't. However, the treats were offered on demand so our dog isn't complaining. The rooms are what you'd expect in an old hotel, it was cosy and clean. The food in the restaurant was slightly pricey but was worth it.

Just returned from a wonderful stay at this hotel, which is the most dog friendly, place we have ever stayed, of course the dogs must have good social behaviour to cope with other dogs, the hotel provides snacks, bowl and blanket for the stay in the owners bedroom. Dogs can be in the bar area and lounge, the staff are all dog friendly and very supportive. Specially zsolt and the chap from South Africa

Few restaurants really deserve their 5 stars but this one. I would give 10 if i could. Excellent service, beautiful food perfectly served and tasted amazing. Yes! All VEGAN! Fantastic all round experience in a beautiful restaurant. 5 stars doesnt really convey the message. Thankyou for a WONDERFUL birthday lunch.

Thoroughly confused about the good reviews for this hotel. It is awful. The room (and hotel in general) are so tackily decorated. The rooms are run down. Mine had a cracked window, disgusting bathroom, toilet didn't flush properly, hot water didn't get warm, the most uncomfortable bed, very thin walls (was treated to the sound of my neighbor snoring all night).
The food is disgusting (bedsides the soup), I couldn't eat much of it and what I did eat made me sick later that night. It is ridiculously overpriced. There are many other better and nicer places to stay (literally two doors down), so don't book last minute like me and be stuck with this dump. All of the staff (besides one of the front desk ladies, very off putting woman) are lovely and of course Dunkeld is a lovely place. Just make sure you don't waste your time or money staying here. It has creepy, bad vibes and is just gross.

Service in beer garden by river was very quick, especially for bank holiday weekend when other hotels were quoting an hour for food. Food excellent. After walk by river went into lounge for coffee and cake. Very nicely done up and Victoria sponge was the best wife has tasted. Service again excellent. Very dog friendly which is also much appreciated. Will be back and head straight here when in Dunkeld.
